Abstract

This paper discusses the design of a passive filter system for energy saving in Energy Saving Lamps (LHE) and Light Emitting Diode (LED), but for LHE and LED lamps for current Total Harmonic Distortion (THDi) that do not meet the standard. To reduce the current THD, it can be done by installing a single tune passive filter.””In this paper, we discuss the design of” a”passive filter system using a filter design with Matlab Simulink to determine the size of the components in filter design. To reduce the level of current harmonics, a single tune passive filter is designed which consists of an inductor and capacitor (LC) on the LHE and the LED.”Based on the research”data”that has been carried out,”the THDi measurement results for the lamp load test after using the filter are 49.12% for the LED circuit, 41.86% for the LHE circuit and 11.59% for the combined LED and LHE circuit.”Based on the results”of”each”measurement,”it can be seen that none have met the IEEE 519- 2014 standards. In this study, only using a filter tuned to the 3rd order, and based on the simulation results, it meets the IEEE 519-2014 standard, which is 1.11%.”The results of the design and testing of”tools (filters) show that they do not meet the IEEE 519-2014 standards, namely 11.59%.

Abstract

The integration of photovoltaic (PV) systems into the grid, combined with nonlinear loads and bidirectional power flows, significantly impacts grid voltage stability and total harmonic distortion (THD) in low-voltage distribution systems. This study proposes the application of an Active Power Filter (APF) to improve power quality (PQ) and mitigate harmonic distortion caused by nonlinear loads. Harmonic distortion from nonlinear loads poses a substantial risk of damaging electronic equipment and degrading overall power quality. The proposed APF utilizes a Fractional Order Proportional-Integral (FOPI) controller implemented through a Voltage Source Inverter (VSI). The effectiveness of the FOPI controller was evaluated through simulation and compared to a conventional PI controller. The results demonstrate that the FOPI-controlled system successfully reduces current THD to meet IEEE 519 standards (< 5%), highlighting the superior performance and robustness of the FOPI controller compared to traditional approaches.

Abstract

The digital literacy skills of MSMEs need to be improved so that MSMEs can increase their product sales through websites. Through websites, MSMEs have control over the sales process. Therefore, this PKM activity is focused on free website design training for the Mustika Farmer Group and its partners in Kamat Jati, East Jakarta. This training is the realization of the MoU of cooperation between the UKI Faculty of Engineering and Kramat Jati Village, East Jakarta in the field of training for the Mustika Farmer Group and partners, in creating websites. This training was held on December 18-19, 2025 at the Mustika RPTRA, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, attended by 14 participants, which resulted in 6 website designs. This 2-day training received a positive response from participants, who wanted similar training to be held in the future. However, the implementation of this training was not optimal because generally the participants were still classified as newcomers in website design, so they were still confused about starting to design websites again, were not used to surfing the internet, and the training area was near the Halim airport and public sports facilities that were crowded with people, thus disrupting the concentration of the training participants.

Abstract

Traffic congestion and road user safety risks are major problems that frequently occur at intersections, especially during peak hours. Therefore, a more efficient, intelligent, and flexible control system is needed to optimize vehicle flow regulation at each intersection. One of the solutions that can be implemented is a programmable logic controller (PLC) based automatic traffic light setting system. This technology allows for automatic and precise timing of traffic signals, according to the pre-programmed sequence and duration based on the desired traffic conditions. This study aims to design, simulate, and analyze PLC-based automatic traffic light setting systems at a main five-leg intersection (Simpang Lima) in South Tambun District, Bekasi Regency. The system is designed to be able to adjust the red, yellow, and green flashes alternately according to the specified logical order and time. The use of PLCs in this system provides advantages in terms of reliability, ease of programming, and the ability to perform accurate automatic controls. The method carried out in this study is to simulate PLC, with system design carried out through the creation of a block diagram function that represents the working logic of each lamp at the five legs of the intersection.

Abstract

Solar Energy can be utilized as an alternative electrical energy source for communities to reduce routine expenditures, particularly in micro-business sectors like food stalls or canteens. This Community Service (PkM) project aims to implement a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) to supply the electrical load of the Kantin Sehat Kelompok Tani (PokTan) Mustika in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, and to analyze its economic impact on monthly electricity bills. The implementation method consists of four main stages: energy auditing of the canteen's electrical load, system capacity designing (sizing), installation of main components (10 units of 100 Wp solar panels and a 2 kVA zero-export inverter), and operational as well as financial evaluation. The results indicate that the installed PLTS system operates effectively in meeting the canteen's daily power demands. This implementation successfully reduces reliance on the national grid (PLN) during daytime, yields operational cost efficiency for the managers of Kantin Sehat PokTan Mustika, and enhances the partner's understanding regarding the independent maintenance of renewable energy systems.

Abstract

Namun, setelah simulasi, terjadi kenaikan faktor daya sebenarnya menjadi 0,921. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intervensi melalui simulasi mampu menurunkan distorsi harmonik arus hingga memenuhi standar IEEE-519 2022 sekaligus meningkatkan efisiensi faktor daya sistem.
