Abstract

This research focuses on the analysis of land control using remote sensing techniques in the Convertible Production Forest (HPK) area of Sungai Tabanio, located in Tanjung Village, Tanah Laut Regency. The increasing population growth impacts the development of an area, thus increasing the activities of the population in meeting their livelihood needs, driving the community to clear land in forest areas as a source of livelihood. The objective of this study is to analyze the changes in land cover in 2004 and 2024 in the Convertible Production Forest (HPK) area of Sungai Tabanio in Tanjung Village, Bajuin District, Tanah Laut Regency, and to identify indications of land control in the Convertible Production Forest (HPK) area of Sungai Tabanio in Tanjung Village, as well as its correlation with the Indicative Map of Land Control Resolution in the Framework of Forest Area Arrangement (PPTPKH) Revision II of 2023. The method used in this study is the collection and processing of primary research data through manual visual interpretation. The research results obtained are the interpretation of land cover changes from 2004 to 2024, which include plantation land cover (Pk) of 241.34 ha, mining (Tb) of 0.76 ha, shrubland (B) of 15.17 ha, swamp shrubland (Br) of 11.64 ha, open land of 7.11 ha, and water bodies (A) of 6.97 ha. The indication of land control based on the specified land cover parameters shows that the area indicated to be controlled is ± 242.09 ha or 85.55% of the Convertible Production Forest (HPK) area of Sungai Tabanio, the area indicated not to be controlled is ± 6.97 ha or 2.46% of the HPK area of Sungai Tabanio, and the area that has not yet been identified as having indications of land control or not is 33.92 ha or 11.99% of the HPK area of Sungai Tabanio.
