Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of premarital counseling in preparing prospective brides and grooms to understand the goals of family, rights and obligations in marriage, and to achieve a sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah family. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research informants numbered 5 people consisting of religious instructors, representatives of the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), and couples who had participated in the premarital counseling program. The results of the study indicate that premarital counseling has a significant role in increasing couples' understanding of rights and obligations in the household, healthy communication, conflict management, and spiritual values in fostering a family. This guidance also helps reduce divorce rates and strengthen family resilience. Thus, premarital counseling is an important instrument in realizing a sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah family in the region[vp1]. The contribution of this study lies in presenting empirical evidence regarding the implementation of premarital counseling in the context of local Muslim communities in Indonesia. Research findings show that premarital guidance not only functions as preparation before marriage, but also as an effort to strengthen family resilience and form a sakinah, mawaddah, wa rahmah family

Abstract

This study investigates the writing proficiency of sixth-grade students at Madrasah Al Ihsan Medan in producing Khat Naskhi script, which remains insufficiently neat and does not fully conform to the proper conventions of Arabic calligraphy. The study aims to (1) describe the students' level of competence in writing Khat Naskhi, (2) identify common errors and weaknesses found in their writing, and (3) analyze the internal and external factors influencing their performance. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, adopting Miles and Huberman's analytical model, which comprises three major stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving one teacher and fifteen sixth-grade students at Madrasah Al Ihsan Medan. The findings reveal that the students' ability to write Khat Naskhi during Al Khat lessons remains below the expected standard. Several factors contribute to this condition, including insufficient learning materials, lack of practice outside classroom hours, low student engagement during lessons, and limited instructional time for Al Khat subjects. The study underscores the need for enhanced pedagogical support, increased practice opportunities, and curriculum adjustments to improve students' mastery of Khat Naskhi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and demonstrate the influence of using Arabic-language cartoon films as audio-visual media in improving the **maharah istima'** (listening skills) of tenth-grade students at Pondok Pesantren Modern Darussalam Langkat. The main problem underlying this research is the students' difficulty in communicating and listening to Arabic, caused by the lack of engaging and interactive audio-visual learning media. By employing a qualitative approach and a naturalistic method, this study observes the learning process to gain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of such media. The results show that Arabic-language cartoon films significantly enhance students' ability to identify vocabulary and expressions, while also fostering greater learning interest. It is expected that this research can provide innovative solutions for educators to make Arabic language learning more effective and enjoyable.
