Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the role of exploration and exploitation ambidexterity as a mediating factor in the relationship between innovation culture and innovation performance. Additionally, environmental uncertainty was examined as a moderating factor in the interaction between ambidexterity and innovation performance. The research used an explanatory deductive approach, conducting a survey with a purposive sampling method involving 205 SMEs in the creative industries across Malang, Solo, Semarang, and Denpasar. Path analysis with ordinary least squares regression was used to test mediation and moderation effects. The findings revealed that the relationship between innovation culture and innovation performance is mediated by exploration and exploitation ambidexterity. The study also confirmed that the dynamic environment significantly moderates the impact of exploration on innovation performance. However, environmental uncertainty was not found to moderate the effect of exploitation on innovation performance. This research combines perspectives from resource-based theory and dynamic capabilities, offering valuable insights into the role of ambidexterity within SMEs.

Abstract

The hospitality industry in the Special Region of Yogyakarta faces the challenge of high job hopping intentions among generation Z employees. This study aims to examine the influence of authoritarian leadership and target-oriented organizational culture (market culture) on job hopping decision, with career adaptability as a mediating variable. Data were collected from 160 respondents consisting of Gen Z employees working in hospitality sector companies. The analysis was conducted using a quantitative approach with the SEM-PLS method. The findings indicate that authoritarian leadership and market culture have a significant positive effect on job hopping. Career adaptability was found to mediate this relationship, meaning that the higher an individual’s career adaptability, the greater their tendency to respond to work pressures by changing jobs. The implications of these findings highlight the importance of managing leadership styles and adjusting organizational culture to align with the characteristics of generation Z in order to reduce job hopping tendencies in the hospitality industry.

Abstract

Abstrak Nurses play a crucial role in healthcare, but increasing work demands can lead to stress, especially if the workload increases. Furthermore, work-life imbalance can worsen nurses' performance. This study used a quantitative approach with Wrapper for Partial Least Squares (WrapPLS). Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 143 nurses at Morowali Regional General Hospital and Bungku Tengah Community Health Center. The results showed that work life balance had a significant negative effect on work stress, while workload had a significant positive effect on work stress. Work life balance also improved nurses' performance, while workload decreased performance, and work stress negatively affected performance. There was a mediating effect between work life balance and performance through work stress, but no mediating effect between workload and performance. These findings emphasize the importance of workload management and providing support in achieving work life balance to improve the effectiveness and quality of nursing services. Kata kunci: Work life balance, workload, work stress, nurse performance, health service management.
