Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses integrasi nilai-nilai kearifan lokal Haroa dalam pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar Kabupaten Buton serta memahami makna dan implikasinya terhadap pembentukan moral peserta didik. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya pelestarian budaya lokal di tengah arus globalisasi yang menyebabkan pergeseran nilai dan melemahnya karakter generasi muda. Tradisi Haroa sebagai warisan budaya masyarakat Buton mengandung nilai-nilai luhur seperti kebersamaan, rasa syukur, gotong royong, dan penghormatan terhadap sesama, yang relevan dengan dimensi karakter dalam pendidikan nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan guru, siswa, tokoh masyarakat, dan tokoh adat sebagai informan utama. Data dianalisis secara interaktif melalui proses reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai Haroa dapat diintegrasikan secara efektif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran tematik, pembiasaan sekolah, serta kegiatan sosial budaya yang melibatkan partisipasi aktif siswa. Integrasi ini tidak hanya memperkuat karakter religius, tanggung jawab, dan sosial siswa, tetapi juga menumbuhkan kesadaran budaya serta kebanggaan terhadap identitas lokal. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pendidikan berbasis budaya lokal sebagai strategi untuk memperkuat pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar dan membentuk generasi yang berakhlak, berbudaya, serta berdaya saing di era modern. This study aims to analyze the process of integrating the local wisdom values of Haroa into character education in elementary schools in Buton Regency and to understand its meaning and implications for students’ moral development. The research was motivated by the need to preserve local culture amid globalization, which has led to value shifts and the weakening of young generations’ moral character. The Haroa tradition, as a cultural heritage of the Buton community, embodies noble values such as togetherness, gratitude, mutual cooperation, and respect for others—all of which align with the dimensions of character education in Indonesia’s national curriculum. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, community figures, and traditional leaders as key informants. Data were analyzed interactively through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Haroa values can be effectively integrated into thematic learning, school habituation activities, and socio-cultural programs involving students’ active participation. This integration not only strengthens students’ religious, social, and responsible character but also fosters cultural awareness and pride in local identity. The study underscores the importance of local culture-based education as an effective strategy to reinforce character formation in elementary schools and to prepare a morally grounded, culturally rooted, and globally competitive generation in the modern educational context.
