Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of using Videoscribe-based history learning video media in increasing the learning motivation of class X students of SMA N 15 Pekanbaru. The background of this study is the problem of student learning motivation in history learning which is still low, where teachers tend to use conventional methods without varied media, causing boredom. Videoscribe was chosen as an innovative media because of its ability to present dynamic, interactive, and interesting visual animations, which are expected to overcome boredom and improve understanding. The research method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental design (One Group Pretest-Posttest Design) on a sample of 30 students of class X.E SMA N 15 Pekanbaru who were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through a learning motivation questionnaire before and after treatment, as well as observation and documentation. The results of the validity test showed that 30 questionnaire statement items were valid, and the Cronbach Alpha reliability test of 0.916 indicated that the instrument was highly reliable. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Levene's Test homogeneity test, which showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. Hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 (<0.05), which means there was a significant increase in student learning motivation after using Videoscribe media. The average learning motivation increased from 24.03 (before) to 54.20 (after), with an increase of approximately 30.1667 or 44.34%. The conclusion of this study is that video media for learning history Videoscribe based learning is very effective in increasing motivation learning of class X students of SMA N 15 Pekanbaru.
