Abstract

The increasing use of cold-formed steel (CFS) in building structural systems requires an accurate understanding of connection behavior, particularly beam–column connections which have an important role in transferring moment and rotation. One connection type that has been developed is the haunched gusset plate (HGP), which is designed to improve stress distribution and rotational performance of the joint. This study aims to analyze the moment–rotation characteristics of HGP connections in CFS beam–column structures with double channel sections using a numerical approach based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) implemented in ANSYS Workbench. The numerical model was developed based on the IJT-BGJ-9 experimental specimen from previous studies as a validation reference, considering material nonlinearity, boundary conditions, contact interaction, and explicit bolt modeling. The analysis focuses on the evaluation of joint strength capacity, stiffness capacity, and ductility capacity in accordance with the provisions of BS EN 1993-1-8. The results show that the FEM moment–rotation curve has very good agreement with the experimental results, with a rotation difference of 0,43% and a final stiffness difference of 1,30%. The HGP connection is classified as a semi-rigid, partial-strength, and ductile joint. These findings demonstrate that the developed FEM model is able to accurately represent the actual behavior of the connection and can be used as a reliable and efficient evaluation tool for the analysis and design of cold-formed steel frame connections.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan unuk menganalisa perilaku balok prategang dengan panjang bentang 50 meter pada ruas jembatan di kota Palembang. Penelitian dilakukan untuk memahami respons struktural balok prategang terhadap beban-beban yang mungkin terjadi selama masa operasional jembatan. Metode analisa menggunakan pendekatan numerik dengan mempertimbangkan berbagai parameter seperti beban lalu lintas, kondisi lingkungan, dan karakteristik material. Hasil analisa diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan yang mendalam tentang keandalan dan keamanan struktural balok prategang dalam menghadapi berbagai beban, serta membantu dalam mengidentifikasi potensi kegagalan atau deformasi yang perlu diperhatikan. Diharapkan kesimpulan dari penelitian ini dapat memberikan kontribusi penting bagi perancangan, pemeliharaan, dan manajemen jembatan di kota Palembang, dengan tujuan meningkatkan keamanan dan efisiensi penggunaan infrastruktur tersebut.

Abstract

Lake Normalization is a job that aims to improve the structure of the lake shape by moving sedimentation in the lake so that the lake volume increases and can accommodate more water capacity. Lake normalization work uses excavator heavy equipment with hitachi and sumitomo brands. The purpose of this study is to determine the productivity of excavator heavy equipment using the analysis method of PERMEN PUPR No. 28/PRT/M/2016 and determine the number of heavy equipment needed in lake normalization work. Based on the results of the analysis that has been done, it is known that the volume of the lake is 98,350 m³ with hourly productivity of hitachi brand heavy equipment 93.72 m³ / hour and productivity of sumitomo brand heavy equipment 84.35 m³ / hour and the heavy equipment needed in lake normalization work is 10 units consisting of 5 units of hitachi brand excavators and 5 units of sumitomo brand excavators.
