Abstract

Implementing Business Process Management (BPM) in the public sector has become a strategic approach to improving organizational performance and service delivery. Despite growing interest, a comprehensive understanding of its benefits remains essential. This study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) to identify, assess, and synthesize existing research on BPM implementation in the public sector. The findings reveal three primary benefits: (1) Efficiency and Cost Reduction, achieved through streamlined processes and optimized resource utilization; (2) Enhanced Service Delivery, which improves the quality, speed, and reliability of public services; and (3) BPM's crucial role in Digital Transformation, facilitating process modernization and integration of digital tools to meet evolving citizen demands. This review highlights BPM as a transformative enabler for public sector organizations, fostering operational efficiency, improved service outcomes, and digital readiness. Future research should explore BPM's long-term impacts and its role in enhancing public trust and satisfaction.
