Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) tipe 2 merupakan penyakit kronis yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar glukosa darah akibat resistensi insulin dan gangguan sekresi insulin. Kondisi ini dapat menimbulkan berbagai komplikasi apabila tidak dikendalikan dengan baik. Selain terapi farmakologis, diperlukan intervensi nonfarmakologis yang dapat membantu mengontrol kadar glukosa darah. Salah satu intervensi yang dapat diterapkan adalah Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR), yaitu teknik relaksasi yang dilakukan dengan cara menegangkan dan melemaskan kelompok otot secara bertahap untuk mengurangi stres dan meningkatkan respons relaksasi tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan terapi PMR terhadap stabilisasi kadar glukosa darah pada pasien DM tipe 2. Studi ini menggunakan desain studi kasus pada tiga pasien dengan diagnosis DM tipe 2. Intervensi PMR diberikan selama tiga hari berturut-turut dengan frekuensi satu kali sehari selama 15–20 menit. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pengukuran kadar glukosa darah sebelum dan sesudah pemberian terapi serta observasi respons pasien selama intervensi. Hasil menunjukkan adanya penurunan kadar glukosa darah pada seluruh subjek. Kadar glukosa darah Tn. I menurun dari 309 mg/dL menjadi 248 mg/dL, Ny. N dari 198 mg/dL menjadi 147 mg/dL, dan Ny. H dari 335 mg/dL menjadi 226 mg/dL. Selain itu, seluruh subjek melaporkan perasaan lebih rileks dan nyaman setelah mengikuti terapi PMR. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan terapi PMR berpotensi membantu menurunkan dan menstabilkan kadar glukosa darah pada pasien DM tipe 2. Oleh karena itu, PMR dapat dipertimbangkan sebagai salah satu intervensi keperawatan nonfarmakologis dalam mendukung pengendalian glukosa darah dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien DM tipe 2.

Abstract

Nursing leadership has increasingly been recognised as a decisive element in sustaining teamwork performance, patient safety, and quality of care. However, the relationship between leadership and teamwork is often discussed in a fragmented manner, with leadership treated as an individual managerial attribute and teamwork as a separate operational outcome. This article aims to critically examine how transformational nursing leadership contributes to teamwork performance and to discuss its implications for leadership development in nursing education. This study employed a structured narrative review approach by synthesising selected literature on nursing leadership, teamwork, transformational leadership, patient safety, staff retention, and leadership development. The review was organised thematically to clarify three key issues: the conceptualisation of nursing leadership in clinical practice, teamwork as a mechanism linking leadership with care quality, and transformational leadership as a developmental framework for preparing nurse leaders. The synthesis indicates that transformational leadership contributes to teamwork performance not merely by motivating individual nurses, but by shaping communication, trust, shared responsibility, mutual support, and collective accountability within clinical teams. Nevertheless, transformational leadership should not be idealised as a universal solution, since effective nursing leadership also requires operational discipline, role clarity, feedback systems, and organisational support. This article concludes that nursing education should move beyond teaching leadership as an abstract competence and instead cultivate future nurse leaders who are able to build reliable, collaborative, and patient-centred clinical teams.
