Abstract

Education is not merely a process of transferring scientific knowledge, but a humanistic endeavor to cultivate noble character. Amidst modern advancements that frequently trigger social fragmentation and moral crises among the younger generation, strengthening students' character has become an urgent priority that cannot be delayed. Prayer (shalat), often understood solely as a vertical ritual between a servant and the Creator, inherently possesses a rich social dimension—encompassing discipline, equality, empathy, and peace. Unfortunately, this transformative potential is still frequently overlooked in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) practices in schools, where ritual worship has not fully manifested into daily social behavior. This conceptual study aims to elaborate on how the internalization of the social values of shalat can be meaningfully integrated into the learning process to strengthen the humanistic character of students. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative research method, this study profoundly examines various literatures, pedagogical concepts, and religious texts to present a comprehensive framework of ideas. The results of the study indicate that internalizing the social values of shalat in learning must touch three dimensions of humanity: cognitive awareness (knowing), emotional resonance (feeling), and behavioral habituation (acting). When PAI learning succeeds in transforming the understanding of shalat from a mere "jurisprudential obligation" into a "social consciousness," students will grow into individuals who are not only personally pious but also courteous, caring, and peaceful in interacting with others. This strategy positions teachers not as rigid instructors, but as facilitators who nurture the human fitrah (nature) of students toward a strong and noble character.

Abstract

Qurban is a form of worship offered as a form of taqarrub to Allah, namely getting closer to Him and real evidence that Islam is a perfect religion and pays great attention to social relationships, such as qurban. This study aims to determine a critical study of Islamic Religious Education teaching materials on the qurban worship material for class 5B at SDI Technopreneur An Nadwah. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach method. Data collection was obtained through observation, documentation and interviews. Data analysis techniques: data collection, reduction, display, conclusion and verification. Data validity test: Triangulation, dependability, confirmability and transferability. Research results: Overall, learning the qurban worship material for class 5B students at SD Islam Technopreneur An Nadwah shows suitability in integrating character values such as sacrifice and social care, supported by interactive methods and standard learning resources that are aligned with the applicable PAI Curriculum. However, there are significant shortcomings in less specific learning objectives, minimal contextual material, cognitive-focused evaluation, and limited sources and methods due to limited facilities. Effective learning builds basic knowledge (conditions, pillars, wisdom) and basic character, but is less than optimal in internalizing spiritual-social values due to the dominant theoretical approach and non-holistic evaluation. Qurban learning is expected to shape students with Islamic personalities (behaving according to Islam).
