Abstract

The low level of student interest in science, particularly in physics, presents a significant challenge. Many students view physics as a difficult subject with limited career prospects. Therefore, motivational and educational activities are needed to increase students’ interest in physics education and the field of physics itself. This community service activity aims to increase the motivation of 12th-grade students at MAN 1 Pringsewu to pursue higher education and consider physics as a major. This community service activity was held on February 3, 2026, using interactive lectures, discussions, and Q&A sessions. The activity phases began with planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The activity was evaluated by reviewing questionnaires distributed to students after the event concluded. The evaluation results showed that 79.5% expressed interest in continuing their studies in the physics major. Another positive result indicated that 92.3% of respondents rated the “Physics Goes to School” activity as beneficial for students. Based on these results, it is evident that outreach and motivational activities in higher education can broaden students’ perspectives, foster interest, and motivate them to pursue higher education, particularly in physics.
