Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning materials of Islamic Cultueal History (SKI) related to the development of fiqh and science and technology during the Abbasid era, as well as to explain the teacher’s interpretation in the learning procces at MAN 1 Banyumas. This research employed a qualitative approach using a classroom ethnography method. Data were collected trough classroom observations, interview with teachers and students, and documentation in the form of learning media and teaching notes used during the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Data analysis was conducted trough data redauction, data presentation, and conlusion drawing to obtain an overview of the imlementation of SKI learning in the madrasah. The findings show that the fiqh materials discuss the development of the four major Islamic schools of thought, namely Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali, while the science and technology materials explain the Abbasid era in the fields of mathemaatics, medicine, astronomy, optics, and philosophy. SKI learning contributes to improving students’ understanding of Islamic civilization history, the development of science during the Abbasid era, and the inculation of Islamic educational values and appreciation for Islamic scholarly traditions within the madrasah environment.
