Abstract

Semantic studies play a central role in the study of language because meaning is at the core of the communication process. Arabic, as a language with a complex morphological and syntactic system, possesses a wealth of meanings that depend not only on lexical forms but also on sentence structure and the context of its use. This research aims to analyze the semantic relationships in Arabic and examine their influence on understanding and language use in communication. The main focus of the study includes semantic relations, particularly musytarak words (words with multiple meanings), diversity of meanings or ambiguity, and taraduf (synonyms). This research employs a quantitative approach by analyzing relevant linguistic data to explore the connections between semantic aspects and understanding of the Arabic language. The findings indicate that linguistic and situational context plays a vital role in determining the meaning of words, especially concerning musytarak words and ambiguous sentence structures. Furthermore, a proper understanding of synonyms in the Arabic language has proven to enhance the accuracy of meaning and effectiveness in communication. The results of this study emphasize that mastery of semantic aspects is key to understanding Arabic texts, both classical and modern, including religious and academic texts. Thus, this study is expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions to the development of Arabic language learning, particularly in designing curricula that emphasize understanding meanings and the context of language use.

Abstract

Dilalah is a branch of Arabic linguistics that focuses on the study of meaning and interpretation of words and sentences in various contexts. It plays an important role in comprehensively understanding the Arabic language, both in classical and modern texts. This article aims to examine the benefits of dilālah and its application in Arabic, from understanding meaning and developing vocabulary to its use in communication and education. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis techniques on various relevant sources, including books, journals, and scientific articles. The results of the study show that dilālah contributes significantly to deepening the understanding of denotative and connotative meanings, revealing semantic nuances in literary and religious texts, and improving creative and contextual language skills. In addition, dilālah is also closely related to other disciplines such as interpretation, grammar, and Arabic cultural studies. However, the study of dilālah still faces various challenges, such as the complexity of concepts and limited teaching resources. Therefore, it is necessary to develop learning materials and improve the competence of educators so that dilālah can be understood and applied optimally. This study is expected to contribute theoretically and practically to the development of Arabic language studies.
