Abstract

This study evaluates turbidity removal performance and daily Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) use at SPAM Katulampa, Bogor, based on routine operational data under fluctuating raw water turbidity. Daily operational data from 10 February to 10 March 2026 were analysed, including raw water turbidity, treated water turbidity, PAC consumption, and flow rate. Descriptive statistics, time-series plots, turbidity removal calculation, and exploratory scatter plots with linear trendlines were used to assess treatment stability and the relationship between PAC use and turbidity. Raw water turbidity varied widely from 12.00 to 262.97 NTU, while treated water turbidity remained low at 0.52–0.91 NTU, below the 3 NTU national turbidity limit. Turbidity removal ranged from 94.9% to 99.8%, indicating stable performance of the treatment process. Daily PAC use ranged from 324.75 to 519.60 kg/day. However, the linear relationships between raw water turbidity and PAC use (R² = 0.0148), and between PAC use and treated water turbidity (R² = 0.0021), were very weak. The results indicate that low treated-water turbidity was maintained despite high raw-water variability, but this stability cannot be attributed solely to PAC use. It is more appropriately understood as the combined performance of coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and routine operational control. Higher-resolution operational data are needed to evaluate real-time PAC dose response and process optimization.

Abstract

Treated water turbidity stability is an important indicator of operational reliability in surface-water-based drinking water treatment plants. This study evaluated preventive operational control at SPAM Katulampa, Bogor City, using daily operational data from 10 February to 10 March 2026 and field observations. The evaluated parameters included raw and treated water turbidity, raw water flow rate, turbidity removal efficiency, and preventive control practices in each treatment unit. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the coefficient of variation, followed by development of a preventive operational control matrix. Raw water turbidity fluctuated markedly, with an average of 58.83 NTU, a range of 12.00–262.98 NTU, and a coefficient of variation of 88.49%. In contrast, treated water turbidity remained stable, averaging 0.61 NTU with a range of 0.52–0.91 NTU and a coefficient of variation of 16.83%, consistently meeting the 3 NTU drinking water standard. Stability was supported by integrated controls at the intake, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, reservoir, and overall operation stages. Key measures included screening, coagulation control, sludge draining, filter backwashing, media maintenance, and final water quality verification. The findings confirm that stable treated water quality results from coordinated preventive control across the treatment train.

Abstract

Aeration is the most energy-intensive unit in wastewater treatment systems, particularly in shallow decentralized reactors with limited hydrostatic pressure, which, which reduces oxygen transfer efficiency. However, systematic evaluations of integrated porous–Venturi microbubble systems under shallow-water conditions are limited. This study aims to address this gap by investigating and optimizing a fine-bubble porous–Venturi microbubble generator (MBG) using laboratory-scale experiments. Clean water experiments were conducted in a 200 L batch reactor with two liquid flow rates (71.6 and 103.8 L/min) and four gas flow rates (0.15–0.60 L/min). Aeration performance was assessed using the volumetric oxygen mass transfer coefficient (KLa(20)), standard oxygen transfer rate (SOTR), and specific aeration efficiency (SAE), supported by one-way ANOVA. The results showed that the gas flow rate influenced  KLa(20) and SOT,R whereas the liquid flow rate had a dominant effect on SAE. The optimal operating conditions were identified as QL = 71.6 L/min and QG = 0.45 L/min, achieving KLa(20) of 2.23 h⁻¹ and SAE exceeding 40 kg O₂/kWh. The findings showed that optimum gas–liquid interaction leads to energy-efficient aeration performance rather than maximum flow rate supply. It also provides practical design insights for optimizing aeration systems in shallow and decentralized wastewater treatment applications

Abstract

Paving blok V2 memiliki kuat tekan 8,62 MPa, penyerapan air 7,88%, serta ketahanan aus 0.46 mm/menit, memenuhi persyaratan standar baku mutu D. Produk roster menunjukkan karakteristik berbeda berdasarkan geometri.

Abstract

Background: Highland farming in the Dieng landscape faces land degradation and climate uncertainty. Technical recommendations may not endure when authority, work, and benefits are not negotiated among local actors.Aims: This community-service evaluation mapped stakeholder interests, influence, participation, and relationships in a climate-smart agroforestry program in Serang Village, Central Java. Methods: Activities were held on 4–5 October 2025, with 18 attendance records on the first day and 19 on the second. Evidence came from documents, field observation, group dialogue, semi-structured conversations, and UII–UNSIQ team validation.Result: Stakeholders were assessed through a power–interest matrix, salience attributes, and the IAP2 participation spectrum. Farmer groups, UII, and UNSIQ emerged as key players; the village government as a context setter; and KWT/PKK and students as interested actors with limited decision power. Participation remained at involve–collaborate rather than empowerment. Priorities are a joint demonstration plot, stronger KWT/PKK decision roles, village coordination, shared monitoring, and selective engagement with extension and government. The findings also show that combining power–interest, stakeholder salience, and participation analysis can reveal differences in influence that may not be visible from attendance or participation records alone.
