Abstract

Salah satu mata kuliah yang ditawarkan dan disajikan pada perkuliahan program studi Pendidikan matematika adalah Analisis Real. Peneliti menggunakan kegiatan perkuliahan untuk menyampaikan materi nilai mutlak. Fakta bahwa mahasiswa melakukan kesalahan saat menyelesaikan nilai mutlak, hal inilah yang mendorong penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkarakterisasi jenis-jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan mahasiswa ketika berhadapan dengan nilai mutlak. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di Universitas Al-Qolam Malang. Mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika tahun 2023–2024 dijadikan sebagai subjek penelitian. Data kesalahan mahasiswa diperoleh dari hasil tes tertulis yang dikategorikan ke dalam berbagai jenis kesalahan. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian dapat dikatakan bahwa: S1 melakukan dua kesalahan, khususnya pada tahap process skills dan Encoding. Sedangkan S2 melakukan tiga kesalahan juga yaitu pada tahap process skill, tranformatio dan Encoding.

Abstract

Pemecahan masalah merupakan suatu ketrampilan proses yang harus dimiliki siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Namun demikian banyak siswa yang masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memecahkan masalah, khususnya yang berbentuk numerasi. Sebuah fakta menunjukkan bahwa tubuh kita terlibat dalam proses berpikir saat memecahan masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif-eksploratif. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas VII SMP Al-Azhar Brongka Pagelaran.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dua kelompok siswa melakukan dua jenis gesture sejumlah 22 gesture, 17 merupakan gesture deiktik dan sisanya merupakan gesture representasional. Peranan gesture dapat dilihat dari dua aspek, untuk siapa gesture tersebut dilakukan dan berfungsi sebagai apa gesture itu digunakan. dilihat dari untuk siapa gesture itu digunakan disimpulkan bahwa gesture ditujukan untuk (1) dirinya sendiri, (2) orang lain dan (3) bersama-sama. Sebagai perannya dalam memecahkan masalah matematika gesture deiktik berperan untuk (1) menegaskan ucapan, (2) memusatkan perhatian pada suatu masalah, (3) menunjukkan objek maupun posisi suatu hal dan (4) menuntun siswa menemukan strategi dalam pemecahan masalah. Sedangkan gesture representasional berperan untuk (1) membantu orang lain dalam memecahkan masalah (scaffolding), (2) mengongkritkan ide/gagasan tentang apa yang dipikirkannya, (3) alat dalam menarik perhatian dan memusatkan perhatian siswa selama proses memecahkan masalah, dan (4) mengurangi beban kerja siswa selama memecahkan masalah.

Abstract

Mathematical logical intelligence is intelligence related to inductive and deductive thinking, logical reasoning, and students' problem-solving skills, this intelligence affects students' ability to solve math problems. The purpose of this research is to describe the mathematical logical intelligence of MA students in solving matrix problems. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were XI grade students of MA Raudlatul Ulum Putra Gondanglegi, researchers used purposive sampling in collecting research subjects. The data collection techniques used by researchers are test, interview, and documentation methods. Reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing were used by researchers in data analysis. The results showed that students with high mathematical logical intelligence category could fulfill 4 indicators at once, namely: perform various mathematical operations, understand patterns and relationships, think logically, and think systematically. Students with moderate mathematical logical intelligence category were only able to fulfill 3 of the 4 indicators, namely: performing various mathematical operations, understanding patterns and relationships, and thinking logically. Meanwhile, students with low mathematical logical intelligence category were only able to fulfill a maximum of 2 indicators, namely performing various mathematical operations and thinking logically words.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of geometry material by students due to conventional learning processes that tend to be theoretical and abstract. One alternative solution is to provide contextual learning tools that can facilitate independent physical exploration. This research aims to produce a Student Worksheet (LKPD) "Geometry Exploration Through Paper Airplanes" based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) that is valid and suitable for use in learning. The type of research applied is research and development (R&D) by adopting the Plomp development model which is limited to two main stages, namely the preliminary analysis stage (preliminary research) and the design and development stage of the prototype (design and develop prototype). Data collection instruments are in the form of a needs analysis interview sheet and a Likert-scale standard instrument assessment questionnaire for expert validity testing. Qualitative data are analyzed by summarizing suggestions for improvement, while quantitative data are analyzed using the validity percentage formula. The results of the formative evaluation through expert validity testing (expert review) show that the developed LKPD falls into the "Very Valid" category with an average overall validity percentage reaching 88.6%. Specifically, the validity level was obtained from the accumulated scores of 88% from the material expert (accurate concept and RME syntax), 92% from the media expert (highly intuitive visual design and layout), and 86% from the language expert (concise and communicative instructional sentences). Based on these results, this concrete activity-based worksheet, folding origami paper airplanes, was deemed highly suitable for further assessment through a field trial to directly measure its practicality and effectiveness in the classroom.
