Abstract

This study aims to develop a flipbook-assisted e-LKPD based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on social arithmetic material to facilitate the mathematical literacy skills of seventh-grade junior high school students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4-D development model, which consists of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. However, this study was limited to the develop stage because the research focused on the process of designing, validating, and revising the product to produce teaching materials that are feasible for use based on expert assessments. The research subjects consisted of two expert validators, namely a media expert and a material expert, as well as three seventh-grade junior high school students in a small-scale trial to determine the readability, clarity of content, and ease of use of the e-LKPD before it is implemented on a wider scale. The research instruments included media expert validation questionnaires, material expert validation questionnaires, and student response questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used descriptive quantitative analysis by calculating the percentage of product validity and practicality results. The results showed that the flipbook-assisted e-LKPD based on RME obtained a media expert validation percentage of 90.6% with a “very valid” category and a material expert validation percentage of 88.5% with a “very valid” category. In addition, the practicality test result obtained a percentage of 77.7% with a “practical” category. Student learning outcomes also showed an average score of 83.6 in the “good” category. Therefore, the flipbook-assisted e-LKPD based on RME is considered valid, practical, and feasible to be used as digital teaching material to support mathematics learning and has the potential to facilitate students’ mathematical literacy skills in social arithmetic material.
