Abstract

Lychee plants are commercial fruit plants, on Ambon Island they grow along the Negeri Hative Besar road. They are local lychee plants (Litchi chinensis Sonn Var. Amboinensis) which grow in home gardens as landscape plants and have not been commercially cultivated. This cultivar has adapted to the lowland environment, namely 5 - 400 m above sea level with rainfall of 2500-3000 mm/year, minimum temperature of 23.4-25.6°C and humidity of 82.3-87.4%. Lychee on Ambon Island is widely cultivated as a yard plant in Negeri Soya, Naku, Hatalai, Hukurila, Ema, Amahusu, Eri, Lateri, Tulehu, Hative Besar and Tawiri as well as other villages in the Lease Islands (Haruku Island, Saparua and Nusalaut), South Seram and West Seram. The yield of lychee fruit in these areas is still very low with a quality that cannot be maintained as an exotic fruit that has commercial economic value because the fruit skin cracks and its taste is sour because it has not received good praktice agrotechnology. The application of appropriate lychee cultivation technology through socialization activities, demonstrations and assistance in providing Complete Organic Liquid Plant Nutrition Landetox to lychee trees in the yards of the community in Negeri Hative Besar, Teluk Ambon sub-district, Maluku province has provided an increase in high yields with satisfactory lychee fruit quality and marketable as a promising source of income for the community.

Abstract

In mustard cultivtion, the right combination of the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer given through the leaves and the frequency of application are factors that can optimize growth and yield. This research aimed to test the effectiveness of the concentration and frequency of NASA liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of Samhong mustard (Brassica juncea L.). The research was carried out in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Pattimura University, Ambon. This research was conducted as an experiment using a Randomized Block Design with 2 factors. The first factor was the concentration of NASA liquid organic fertilizer which consisted of 4 levels, namely: concentration of 0 mL/L of water (without giving POC); 4 mL/L of water; 8 mL/ mL/L of water; and 12 mL/L of water. The second factor was the frequency of fertilizer application which consists of 3 levels, namely 6 times, 3 times and 2 times of application. There were 12 treatment combinations, with 3 replications, so there were 36 experimental units. The research results showed that the concentration of NASA liquid organic fertilizer had a very significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, plant fresh weight, plant dry weight and root dry weight. A concentration of 8 mL/L of water was the best concentration for plant fresh weight, namely 323.89 g. For the treatment of frequency of application, there was a very significant effect on the number of leaves, leaf area, plant fresh weight, plant dry weight and root dry weight, with a frequency of 3 applications being the best frequency for the growth and yield of Samhong mustard greens. The interaction between NASA liquid organic fertilizer concentration and application frequency did not significantly effect all observed variables.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate how the development and yield of the cucumber plant of the Roberto variety (Cucumis sativus L.) were influenced by the lateral branch pruning method and the application rate of NPK fertilizer. The doses of NPK fertilizer, particularly without fertilizer (D0), 10 g/plant (D1), 20 g/plant (D2), and 30 g/plant (D3), as well as lateral branch pruning methods, i.e., without pruning (P0), pruning at the first to fifth nodes (P1), and pruning at the sixth to tenth nodes (P2), were the treatments evaluated. Factorial design in random block design (RBD) with three replicates was used to conduct the study. The number of plants, height, leaves, male and female flowers, diameter and length of fruits, and weight were among the observation criteria. The number of leaves, the number of male and female flowers, and the diameter of the fruit were all significantly affected by lateral branch pruning, according to the data. In addition, the NPK fertilizer dosage significantly affected the yield and growth of cucumbers on most of the characteristics measured. Yields increase synergistically when pruning and NPK fertilizer dosage are combined. In conclusion, the Roberto cucumber variety can maximize growth and yield by combining lateral branch pruning with the right dosage of NPK fertilizer. Cucumber cultivation techniques can be based on the findings of this study to increase productivity.

Abstract

The use of chemical fertilizers on vegetable mustard by farmers is currently higher than the use of organic fertilizers. The use of proper organic fertilizers is an alternative to reducing the dose of chemical fertilizers to increase yields of pagoda mustard. This study aimed to determine the effect of biological organic fertilizers at various treatment doses on the growth and yield of pagoda mustard. This study was conducted in the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Pattimura University, from May to July 2019. It was carried out using single factor experiment in a Randomized Block Design, with biological organic fertilizer dose treatment, consisting of 6 levels: 0 ml/l, 5 ml/l, 10 ml/l, 15 ml/l, 20 ml/l, and 25 ml/l per container. The observed variables consisted of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, crown fresh weight, root fresh weight, crown dry weight, and crown diameter. Data were analyzed statistically and further tested using Duncan's test with a level of 5%. The results showed that the treatment of biological organic fertilizers had a very significant effect on the observed variables of root fresh weight. The fertilizer dose significantly affected the observed variables of leaf number (28 and 35 days after planting, dap, ie after the plants were removed from the nursery), plant leaf area, crown fresh weight, crown dry weight, and plant crown diameter, but had no significant effect on the observed variables of plant height (14 and 21 dap) and number of leaves (14 and 21 dap).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of lettuce plants to the application of goat urine organic fertilizer. The study was a Complete Randomized Design with 1 factor 4 repeats. The results showed that the concentration of goat urine organic fertilizer showed that K4 treatment (200 mL concentration) on the parameters of plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf area (cm2), fresh weight of plants (g), fresh weight of roots (g), and harvest index gave the highest yield on lettuce plants followed by other treatments such as K5 (Concentration 250 mL), K6 (Concentration 300 mL), K7 (Concentration 350 mL), K3 (Concentration 150 mL), K2 (Concentration 100 mL), K1 (Concentration 50 mL) and the lowest of the parameters above corresponds to K0 (without control). The concentration of organic fertilizer from goat urine significantly influences the K4 treatment. This shows that this concentration can provide the nutrients needed to support optimal vegetative growth of lettuce plants.
