Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of comparative language styles in the Mahallul Qiyam text contained in the book Majmu'atul Maulid Wal Ad'iyah written by Imam Abdurrahman al-Diba'i and the religious values ??contained therein. As an approach, this study uses a stylistic approach with the applied method being a qualitative descriptive method. The main focus of this study includes the types of comparative language styles and also the religious values contained therein. The data sources in this study are verses in the Mahallul Qiyam text that contain elements of comparative language styles. The data collection technique is carried out through the listening and speaking technique with intensive reading of the text, while for data analysis, the distribution method is carried out through the direct element (BUL) technique to identify the tenor, vehicle, and meaning relationship. The results of the study indicate that there are comparative language styles such as tasybih, majaz, and personification. The application of these language styles not only plays a role as an aesthetic element, but also as a tool to convey religious values. Among the most prominent religious values are the values of faith, which relate to belief in the nobility of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the values of morality and worship, which are part of its spiritual implications. Thus, the text of Mahallul Qiyam reflects the blend of linguistic beauty and profound religious meaning within the Islamic literary tradition.

The method employed is descriptive, utilizing qualitative data. Data on the narrative structure and values of struggle in the film Ar-Rihlah were collected using observation guidelines based on time triangulation, assisted by a checklist, through the process of observing, marking, and recording sentences or dialogues that contain values of struggle. J Greimas' narrative semiotic analysis. Data on narrative structure and values of struggle in the film Ar-Rihlah through a narrative semiotic approach were analyzed through three stages: a) identification of the role of actants; b) mapping of functional structures; c) interpretation of narrative meaning that forms the values of struggle. The results of the study show that the values of struggle in the film Ar-Rihlah (The Journey) are not only expressed in physical combat, but also encompass values such as willingness to sacrifice, unity, respect, patience, and an unyielding spirit. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the versification (science of 'arudh) and moral values in Diwan Ibn al-Adim. The focus of this study includes identifying the types of bahar and zihaf used in the composition of the verses of the poem and the disclosure of the moral values ??contained therein. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, combining the arudh science approach to analyze the structure of the poem's meter and the Islamic moral studies approach to interpret the moral messages of literary works. The research data sources are selected verses of poetry from Diwan Ibn al-Adim obtained through the Diwanul al-‘Arabi application. The data were analyzed through the following stages: (1) classification of the verses of the poem, (2) analysis of the wazan, taf'ilah, and bahar patterns according to the theory of science of 'arudh, and (3) interpretation of the content of moral values ??contained in the text. The results of the study show that Diwan Ibn al-'Adim is dominated by the use of bahar Basith, Thawîl, and Kamil with variations of zihaf such as khaban, qabdh, and idhmar. From a moral perspective, various values are found, such as tawadhu, sabar, jujur, iffah, wara, hikmah, zuhud, generosity, responsibility, and piety. In addition, this work contains moral messages on human relations with Allah SWT, fellow humans, and the social environment. This study concludes that Diwan Ibn al-'Adim is a literary work not only aesthetically superior, with a strong poetic structure, but also rich in moral education relevant throughout time. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of Arabic literary studies, especially those that integrate aspects of form and value.

Abstract

The film Basma (2024) by Fatima Al-Banawi, a Saudi female director, is presented as a representation of contemporary cinema that dares to raise the issues of family, divorce, and mental health in the context of Saudi Arabian society. This film was produced in the new atmosphere of Saudi cinema after the liberalization of art in 2018, which gave more space for local filmmakers to express social reality. This study aims to analyze: 1) the human facts in the film Basma through Lucien Goldmann's genetic structuralism approach; 2) family conflict in the film Basma through Lucien Goldmann's genetic structuralism approach. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Research data were collected using observation sheets and documentation notes, namely by observing, marking, and recording dialogues and scenes containing human facts and family conflicts. Research data were analyzed using several stages, namely: a) identifying human facts; b) determining family conflicts. The research data were validated using time triangulation techniques. The results of the study show that: 1) the human facts in the film Basma are seen through the emotional struggles of the characters in facing family conditions and social pressures; 2) Family conflict arises in the form of internal and external conflict which shows tension between Basma and her parents due to differences in perspective and her father's psychological condition.

Abstract

his study aims to reveal: 1) the representation of power relations in the film The River of Love (Nahr Al-hub) by Ezzel Dine Zulficar through the study of Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics; 2) the representation of the tragedy of love in the film The River of Love (Nahr Al-hub) by Ezzel Dine Zulficar through the study of Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a Peircean semiotic approach that emphasizes the relationship between representament, object, and interpretant. Data were collected using documentation techniques by watching the film and noting relevant scenes and dialogues. The data collection tool used in this study was an observation sheet for recording data compiled based on Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic framework. The research data were analyzed thematically regarding visual and verbal signs related to the theme of power and love based on time and tool triangulation using the content analysis method within Peirce's semiotic framework. The results of the study show: 1) power relations in this film are represented through male domination over women in the form of social and moral control; 2) the tragedy of love emerges as a consequence of the clash between personal desire and an oppressive social structure. Through the process of semiosis, this film presents love as a space of resistance that ends tragically, while simultaneously criticizing the oppressive social system. Thus, this research contributes to the development of film semiotics and broadens cultural perspectives in modern Arabic literary studies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the representation of moral values in Mahmoud Darwish's poem Fii Bayti Ummī Sūratī Tarnū Ilayya. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The formal object of this study is Michael Riffaterre's semiotic theory, while the material object is the poem itself. The analysis was conducted through heuristic and hermeneutic reading and hypogram tracing to reveal the literal, symbolic, and intertextual meanings in the poem. The results show that this poem represents an inner dialogue between the poet and his past self as a reflection on identity and change. Symbols such as self-image, walls, and heavenly gardens contain moral values in the form of honesty towards oneself, existential awareness, and moral responsibility in facing the dynamics of life. This study concludes that Mahmoud Darwish's poetry not only displays the beauty of language but also contains relevant moral messages, especially regarding the importance of self-reflection and the search for truth in the midst of changing times.
