Abstract

This study aims to describe how to improve fifth-grade students’ HOTS using the Deep Learning Model in Mathematics lessons at an elementary school (SDIT). This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were fifth-grade students at Asy-Syifa Alinaraha Integrated Primary School. Data collection was conducted through observation, delamination, and reflection. Data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results of the study Show that the application of the Deep Learning model to mathematics learning can improve individual students’ abilities. This improvement is evident in the increase in test scores in each cycle. Furthermore, students become more active, have high-level reasoning skills, and are responsible in completing assignments. Therefore, the Deep Learning model is effective in improving fifth-grade students’ HOTS abilities.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of quality policy and higher education governance at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and its impact on academic excellence and global recognition. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research analyzes how quality management systems, governance structures, employability-oriented curricula, and innovation ecosystems are integrated at the institutional level. Data were collected through document analysis and semi-structured interviews, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that quality policy at UTM functions as a strategic and transformative instrument rather than a compliance-based mechanism. The alignment between quality policy, governance, work-integrated learning, and research-driven innovation has contributed to strong graduate employability outcomes and enhanced international recognition, including performance in global university rankings. The study highlights that UTM’s success is rooted in the coherence between institutional strategy, governance, and continuous quality improvement. The findings contribute to the literature on higher education governance by demonstrating how universities in emerging contexts can leverage integrated quality policies to achieve sustainable academic excellence and global competitiveness while remaining responsive to national and societal needs.

Abstract

This study aims to test the hypothesis correlation of teacher management, characteristics, and regulatory conformity with the effectiveness of integrated Islamic elementary schools in Riau Islands Province. This research employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sampling technique used a probability sampling technique with a sample of 100 teachers of integrated Islamic schools in Riau Islands Province. Hypothesis testing used correlation analysis with a significance level ɑ = 0.05. The data of the results of this study concluded that both partially and simultaneously there were: 1). the direct relationship between teacher management (X1) and the effectiveness of primary schools (Y) with a correlation coefficient value of rx1y = 0.78 and the contribution of teacher management scores to primary school effectiveness obtained a value of 60.84%. 2) the direct relationship between characteristics (X2) with the effectiveness of primary school (Y) with the value of the correlation coefficient of rx2y = 0.77 and the Contribution of the Value between the characteristics and the effectiveness of the primary school obtained a value of 59.29%, 3) the direct relationship between the conformity of regulations (X3) and the effectiveness of the primary school (Y) with the value of the correlation coefficient rx3y = 0.80 and the contribution of the value between the conformity of regulations and the effectiveness of primary schools was obtained with a score of 64%, 4) a simultaneous direct relationship between teacher management (X1), characteristics (X2), and regulatory conformity (X3) with primary school effectiveness (Y), with a calculated F value of 366.67 and a table F of 3.10 with a correlation coefficient (Rx1x2x3Y) of 0.88. The implication of this study is that based on the results of the analysis, it is known that Teacher Management, Characteristics, and Regulatory Conformity simultaneously have a significant correlation with School Effectiveness. This means that the effectiveness of schools is not determined by a single factor, but is the result of synergy between leadership and teacher management, the characteristics of the education system, and supporting regulations. These three factors form a unified system that strengthens each other in improving the quality of education.

Abstract

This study examines the principal's commitment to achieving successful management at SMPIT AI-Madinah, Tanjung Pinang City, SMPIT Cendekia, Karimun Regency, and SMPIT BP Tahfidz At-Taubah, Batam City. The goal is to analyze the principal's efforts in maintaining the effectiveness of school management, commitment, planning, organizing, implementing, supervising all educational programs, identifying obstacles, and explaining the results of implementing these commitments. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation, involving principals, teachers, and education staff. The results show that the principal's commitment is realized through strong vision and mission policy planning, consistency in decision making, exemplary behavior, and building a quality and achievement-oriented work culture. This commitment has positive implications for the success of school management, which is characterized by the realization of teacher performance, curriculum, resource optimization, and the creation of a conducive and religious school climate. Obstacles faced include limited funds, awareness of diverse school residents. However, strong commitment has been proven to have a positive impact. This study confirms that the principal's commitment is the main factor in maintaining the sustainability of the vision and mission of SMPIT in the Riau Islands Province.
