Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the personality of the main character in the Arabic novel Alzheimer's by Ghazi Abdurrahman Al-Ghosaibi with the psychological theory of humanism, Carl Rogers. Personality analysis is carried out based on self-concept and the process of self-actualization of the main character in the novel. This qualitative research uses descriptive analysis methods, using data and sources from the Arabic novel Alzheimer's by Ghazi Abdurrahman Al-Ghosaibi. The data collection method uses documentation by relating each find in the novel to the theory used. The data validity technique in this study uses the perseverance technique. This study concludes that the personality that appears in the main character in the novel is influenced by the self-concept formed before and after suffering from Alzheimer's and the nature created based on the process of self-actualization. Abstract

Multicultural experiences have increasingly been recognized as a catalyst for creativity by expanding cognitive flexibility, perspective-taking, and integrative thinking. However, empirical findings on the strength and consistency of this relationship remain fragmented across studies. This research aims to synthesize existing evidence through a meta-analysis examining the link between multicultural exposure and creative performance. A total of 68 peer-reviewed studies (N = 12,457 participants) were systematically selected from major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, and PsycINFO. Effect sizes were computed using a random-effects model to account for cross-study heterogeneity. Moderator analyses explored contextual factors such as type of multicultural experience (living abroad, cross-cultural training, or diversity interaction), creativity domain (divergent thinking, creative problem-solving, and innovation), and cultural distance. The meta-analytic results revealed a moderate positive effect size (r = 0.34, p < 0.001), indicating that individuals with higher levels of multicultural exposure consistently demonstrate enhanced creative performance. Living abroad showed the strongest effect among all experience types, particularly in tasks involving divergent and integrative thinking. The findings confirm that multicultural engagement fosters creativity by broadening cognitive schemas and enhancing openness to novelty.

Abstract

Background. In contemporary societies, cultural traditions face constant pressure from globalization, modernization, and social change. These forces often lead to the adaptation and transformation of cultural practices, creating a dynamic tension between tradition and progress. Understanding how communities navigate these transitions is critical for understanding the mechanisms of cultural preservation and transformation. Purpose. This study aims to examine the processes of cultural adaptation and social change in contemporary communities. By investigating how communities balance the preservation of traditions with the demands of modern life, the research seeks to shed light on the factors influencing cultural evolution and the impact of social change on traditional practices. Method. A qualitative research approach is employed, utilizing in-depth interviews and participant observation within several communities undergoing significant cultural transitions. Data is collected from various social groups, including older and younger generations, to explore differing perspectives on tradition and change. Results. The study finds that while traditional practices remain important, they are continually reinterpreted and adapted to align with modern values and lifestyles. Younger generations tend to prioritize aspects of tradition that align with global trends, while older generations emphasize the preservation of original practices. Conclusion. This research underscores the complexity of cultural adaptation and highlights the role of intergenerational dialogue in negotiating the tension between tradition and change.

Abstract

Arabic language learning faces persistent pedagogical challenges, particularly in maintaining learner engagement and addressing linguistic complexity in the context of rapid digital transformation. The increasing integration of digital technologies in education has positioned game-based learning as a promising approach to enhance motivation, interaction, and learner autonomy. However, the design of Arabic language learning games presents unique challenges related to linguistic accuracy, cultural representation, and pedagogical alignment, while simultaneously offering significant opportunities for innovation in the digital era. This study aims to examine the challenges and opportunities involved in designing Arabic language learning games and to identify key principles that support effective and meaningful learning. The research employed a qualitative-dominant mixed-methods design, involving questionnaires administered to Arabic language learners, semi-structured interviews with educators and game developers, and a focused case study of an Arabic learning game implementation. The findings reveal that digital games significantly enhance learner engagement and motivation, yet inconsistencies remain in linguistic depth and cultural authenticity due to design constraints and limited interdisciplinary collaboration. The study concludes that Arabic language learning games can function as effective instructional tools when pedagogical rigor, linguistic integrity, and engaging game mechanics are carefully balanced. These results highlight the importance of theory-informed and collaborative design approaches to optimize the educational potential of digital games in Arabic language learning.

Abstract

Religion has long been a fundamental force in shaping social behavior, with Islamic rituals playing a central role in structuring moral and social conduct within Muslim communities. This study investigates the sociological dimensions of key Islamic rituals, including Salah (prayer), Sawm (fasting), Zakat (charity), and Hajj (pilgrimage), exploring how these practices influence individual and collective behavior. The aim of the research is to examine how Islamic rituals function as mechanisms for social cohesion, moral regulation, and identity formation. A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews and participant observation among Muslim individuals from diverse backgrounds. The findings indicate that these rituals not only foster personal spiritual growth but also strengthen social bonds, promote social responsibility, and encourage ethical conduct. Participants reported that Salah reinforced community unity, while Sawm and Zakat increased empathy and social responsibility. Hajj was viewed as a transformative experience, creating a sense of global Muslim identity. The study concludes that Islamic rituals are vital tools for fostering social solidarity and regulating social behavior, highlighting their dual role in personal devotion and community building. Understanding the sociological implications of these rituals provides valuable insights into the relationship between religion and society.
