Abstract

This study aims to develop an anthropometric database for individuals aged 19-21 in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province to support ergonomic product design tailored to local physiological needs. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving direct measurements of body dimensions in a sitting posture from 52 samples selected via purposive sampling. Key measurements included sitting height, eye level while seated, shoulder height, popliteal length, and other relevant dimensions, analyzed for normality, sufficiency, and consistency. The data followed a normal distribution with sufficient sample validity. Percentile values (P1, P5, P50, P95, P99) revealed significant variations in body dimensions, providing a robust reference for ergonomic design across sectors like creative industries, education, healthcare, and agriculture. The anthropometric database enables designing inclusive, comfortable, and safe products that accommodate various body sizes, enhancing user experience and efficiency in NTB’s key industries. The study is limited to NTB’s 19-21 age group and seated posture measurements, restricting its applicability to Indonesia’s broader population or other postures. Future research should expand geographic scope and include diverse postures to enrich national anthropometric data. Keywords: Anthropometry, Ergonomic Design, Seated Posture, Percentiles, West Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) implementation in small and medium metal construction enterprises is often neglected, particularly regarding non-ergonomic working postures and the low use of personal protective equipment (PPE). These conditions increase the risk of work-related fatigue, occupational diseases, and workplace accidents. This community service program aimed to improve workers’ knowledge and behavior toward healthy work concepts and PPE utilization in a metal construction MSME through counseling and hands-on demonstrations. The activity was carried out in one day at the partner’s workshop, involving all workers and the business owner. The program adopted a counseling and implementation-oriented training design, using a five-item pre-test and post-test questionnaire on healthy work concepts, OSH, and PPE use. The results indicate a substantial improvement in OSH knowledge and behavior. The average percentage of “yes” responses increased from approximately 16% at pre-test to about 92% at post-test; PPE use rose from 40% to 100%, and workers who reported always using PPE increased from 20% to 80%. The partner also began to understand and apply basic ergonomic principles in working posture and workstation arrangement. It can be concluded that the dissemination and demonstration of healthy work concepts and PPE use effectively enhanced OSH awareness and behavior among workers in the metal construction MSME, thus supporting business continuity through a safer, more comfortable, and more productive work environment.

Abstract

The strategic role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as the engine of the national economy is frequently hindered by a lack of financial literacy, particularly amidst the rapid wave of digitalization. Consequently, this community service program was organized with the primary objective of escalating the managerial capacity of Sasaka Donut, an MSME based in Mataram City. The intervention focused on restructuring financial governance to operate systematically, transparently, and efficiently through the deployment of the Kasir Pintar Point of Sale (POS) application. A descriptive qualitative approach grounded in the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method was employed throughout the program. This methodology facilitated the participatory involvement of the partner across five essential stages: planning, analysis, design, implementation, and final evaluation. Field findings demonstrate that the transition to a digital ecosystem successfully eliminated the constraints of manual bookkeeping and resolved the overlapping issue between personal and operational funds. During the post-training observation phase (November 15-30, 2025), the system automatically documented 74 transactions, accumulating a total revenue of IDR 65,272,000, and provided real-time net margin calculations.
