Abstract

Emotional regulation has emerged as a critical component of students’ socio-emotional development, particularly in primary school settings where behavioral adjustment and academic engagement are essential for effective learning. In classroom contexts, students are required to manage emotions such as frustration, anxiety, and excitement while responding to instructional demands and social interactions. Understanding the role of emotional regulation is therefore fundamental to explaining variations in classroom behavior and academic performance among young learners. This study aims to examine the role of emotional regulation in predicting classroom behavior and academic performance in primary school students. A quantitative correlational research design was employed involving primary school students from upper elementary grades. Data were collected using standardized emotional regulation scales, teacher-rated classroom behavior instruments, and documented academic performance records. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression testing. The results indicate that emotional regulation is significantly associated with adaptive classroom behavior and positively related to academic performance. Emotional regulation also emerged as a significant predictor of classroom behavior and learning outcomes, highlighting its central role in supporting effective learning processes. The study concludes that emotional regulation is a foundational skill that influences how students behave and perform academically in primary school. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating emotional regulation development into instructional practices and educational frameworks to foster both behavioral adjustment and academic success.

Abstract

Background. In Indonesia, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which represent a significant portion of the economy, often face challenges in accessing traditional financial services due to limited access to banking and credit facilities. Peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platforms have emerged as a viable alternative to address the financing gap for unbanked MSMEs. Purpose. This study investigates the role of P2P lending platforms in promoting financial inclusion among unbanked MSMEs in Indonesia, focusing on their potential to provide easier access to capital and foster economic growth. Method. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with MSME owners and financial experts. A total of 200 MSMEs across various sectors were surveyed, and 15 in-depth interviews were conducted to explore the experiences of MSME owners using P2P lending services. Data analysis includes descriptive statistics and thematic analysis to understand the impact of P2P lending on business performance, financial inclusion, and economic empowerment. Results. The findings reveal that P2P lending platforms have significantly improved access to capital for unbanked MSMEs, enabling them to expand their operations and enhance their financial stability. However, challenges such as high-interest rates, limited awareness, and lack of financial literacy remain. Conclusion. The study concludes that P2P lending platforms play a crucial role in enhancing financial inclusion for MSMEs in Indonesia. To maximize their impact, there is a need for more targeted financial literacy programs and policy support to improve the accessibility and sustainability of these platforms for unbanked MSMEs.

Abstract

Background. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), implemented in 2018, aimed to enhance user privacy and give individuals more control over their personal data on social media platforms. However, despite these regulatory changes, concerns about data privacy and user agency persist. This study explores how users perceive their privacy and data control on social media platforms post-GDPR, focusing on whether the regulation has led to a genuine increase in user agency or if it remains an illusion. Purpose. The research aims to assess the gap between perceived and actual control over personal data, as well as the factors that influence these perceptions. Method. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combines surveys and in-depth interviews with social media users across various platforms. Results. The findings reveal that while users feel more empowered by the GDPR’s transparency requirements, many still feel limited in their ability to effectively control their data. Privacy settings remain confusing, and the complexity of consent mechanisms leaves users uncertain about the full extent of their data usage. Conclusion. The study concludes that, while GDPR has improved transparency, it has not fully addressed the underlying issues of user agency, suggesting the need for further regulatory refinement to provide users with meaningful control over their data.
