Abstract

Educational policy in Indonesia continuously evolves to address contemporary challenges and eliminate the discriminatory legacy of the colonial era. This study aims to analyze the historical development of educational policies in Indonesia and their influence on the modern school system, specifically regarding curriculum, quality standardization, decentralization, and funding. The method employed is qualitative through library research, with secondary data analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results indicate that the dualistic system of the colonial period triggered a structural transformation within traditional Islamic education, making it more adaptive. In the modern era, this transformation culminates in the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka, which focuses on student-centered learning, and the transition of evaluation from the National Examination to the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK). Furthermore, decentralization policies initiated by Law No. 22 of 1999 and the optimization of funding through the School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds have proven to grant greater autonomy to regions and schools. However, challenges such as disparities in technological infrastructure, limited competence of educators, and inequalities in financial management between urban and rural areas remain major obstacles to achieving an equitable and inclusive educational ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and examine effective Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) strategies to optimize students' creativity and giftedness potential. The method employed is a qualitative approach utilizing library research. All data were gathered from secondary sources, including scientific journal articles, textbooks, and previous research reports, which were then analyzed using thematic content analysis. The results indicate that SRL, which integrates metacognition, motivation, and active behavior, plays a crucial role in transforming the raw intellectual potential of gifted children into concrete academic achievements. The implementation of SRL strategies through student-centered learning models such as Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Brain Based Learning (BBL), and blended learning has proven effective in stimulating creative thinking skills (encompassing fluency, flexibility, elaboration, and novelty) and providing learning flexibility tailored to the unique characteristics of gifted students. Practical recommendations from this study emphasize the importance of an educational ecosystem that fosters thinking autonomy and the sustainable development of robust independent character.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in vocational high schools (SMK) faces significant challenges in balancing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects to align with workforce needs and character building. This research aims to analyze and describe the application of competency design and the formulation of learning objectives in improving the quality of PAI learning at SMK Negeri 2 Probolinggo. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with PAI teachers as key instruments. The results indicate that effective competency design is achieved through systematic steps, including student needs analysis, determining core and basic competencies that integrate spiritual values with 21st-century skills, and developing comprehensive competency-based evaluations. Implementation strategies in the classroom have shifted from teacher-centered to student-centered learning through Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Project-Based Learning (PBL), and differentiated learning approaches. This study concludes that strengthening the pedagogical, linear, and spiritual competencies of teachers is the primary key to forming a moderate "Profil Pelajar Pancasila" that is adaptive to global dynamics.
