Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology that enables electronic devices to connect and communicate through the internet, allowing systems to operate automatically and efficiently. This study aims to design and implement an IoT-based automatic fan control system based on temperature. The system is designed to address inefficiencies in manual fan operation that is not responsive to real-time temperature changes. The research method used is an experimental approach involving system design, hardware assembly, microcontroller programming, and system testing. The main components include a NodeMCU ESP8266 as the system controller, a DHT22 temperature sensor for detecting ambient temperature, and a relay module to control the fan. The test results show that the system can detect temperature changes in real time and automatically control the fan according to predefined temperature thresholds. In addition, the system can connect to the internet, enabling temperature and fan status monitoring. Therefore, the proposed IoT-based automatic fan control system can improve room comfort and enhance energy efficiency.

Abstract

Abstract: The oil palm plantation sector is a key pillar of the Asahan Regency economy. However, differences in regional characteristics lead to variations in land area, production, and productivity between sub-districts. This study aims to cluster sub-districts in Asahan Regency based on oil palm production characteristics using the K-Medoids method. Data used comes from the Asahan Regency Agriculture Office, which covers 25 sub-districts with three main variables: mature area (ha), oil palm production (tons), and productivity (tons/ha/year). The clustering process was performed manually using Euclidean distance calculations, with the number of clusters set at three. The results indicate the formation of three main clusters: high, medium, and low production clusters. This grouping is expected to form the basis for more targeted and data-driven development planning for the oil palm plantation sector. Keywords: K-Medoids, Clustering, Oil Palm, Plantation Production, Asahan Regency   Abstrak: Sektor perkebunan kelapa sawit merupakan salah satu penopang utama perekonomian Kabupaten Asahan. Namun, perbedaan karakteristik wilayah menyebabkan variasi luas lahan, produksi, dan produktivitas antar kecamatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengelompokkan kecamatan di Kabupaten Asahan berdasarkan karakteristik produksi kelapa sawit menggunakan metode K-Medoids. Data yang digunakan berasal dari Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Asahan yang mencakup 25 kecamatan dengan tiga variabel utama, yaitu luas tanaman menghasilkan (ha), produksi kelapa sawit (ton), dan produktivitas (ton/ha/tahun). Proses pengelompokan dilakukan secara manual menggunakan perhitungan jarak Euclidean dengan jumlah klaster ditetapkan sebanyak tiga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terbentuknya tiga klaster utama, yaitu klaster produksi tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Pengelompokan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar dalam perencanaan pembangunan sektor perkebunan kelapa sawit yang lebih terarah dan berbasis data.
