Abstract

Background: Cardiac arrest is an emergency that requires immediate and appropriate treatment. One key factor in the success of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is the speed of response of nurses in the Emergency Department (ER). Response time Fast time) is associated with an increased chance of successful treatment of cardiac arrest patients. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between nurse response time and the success of treating cardiac arrest patients in the ER. Methods: This study used an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was 40 cardiac arrest patients treated in the Emergency Department of Hospital "X" during the period of January–June 2025. Measurements were made on the nurses' response time from patient identification to the start of CPR. The success of treatment was measured by the presence of a return to normal. of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). Data analysis was performed using the Chi- Square test using a significance level of 0.05. Results: The results of the study showed that most nurses with a response time of ≤1 minute successfully increased the ROSC rate in cardiac arrest patients compared to nurses with a response time of >1 minute. The Chi- Square test showed a significant relationship between nurse response time and successful treatment of cardiac arrest patients (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Nurse response time is significantly associated with the success of cardiac arrest treatment in the emergency department. The faster the response, the higher the chance of successful resuscitation.

Method: This study used a pre -experimental design with a one-way design. group pretest – posttest. The sample consisted of 40 active adolescent smokers selected using purposive sampling technique at State Senior High School X. Counseling was provided for 60 minutes using interactive lecture methods and educational videos. The research instrument was an Intention questionnaire. to Quit Smoking The IQSS scale has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used a paired t- test to examine differences in smoking cessation intentions before and after the intervention. Results: The average smoking cessation intention score before the intervention was 52.3, increasing to 76.1 after the counseling. The statistical test results showed a p- value of 0.000 (<0.05), which means there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. Conclusion: Health education about the dangers of smoking has been proven effective in increasing adolescents' intention to quit smoking. It is hoped that education programs will be implemented regularly in schools to foster healthy lifestyles in the younger generation.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease that requires long-term treatment and high adherence to achieve recovery. Non-adherence to medication is a major cause of treatment failure and the emergence of drug resistance. Home visits by nurses are a community nursing intervention aimed at improving patient adherence through education, monitoring, and psychosocial support. This study aimed to determine the effect of home visits by nurses on medication adherence in pulmonary TB patients. The study used a quasi -experimental design with a one-way approach. group Pretest - posttest. The sample consisted of 30 pulmonary TB patients selected using a purposive sampling technique. Medication adherence was measured using a compliance questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Signed Rank Test. The results of the study showed an increase in medication adherence after home visits with a p value = 0.000 (<0.05). The conclusion of this study is that home visits by nurses have a significant effect on increasing adherence to taking medication in pulmonary TB patients.
