Abstract

Nowadays digital archiving has an important role to play in supporting administrative efficiency and the quality of public services, including in higher education institutions. This research discusses the implementation of digital archive management at Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya (UMPR) as an effort to improve the quality of public services. Through archive digitization, UMPR seeks to speed up the flow of information, facilitate data access, and increase transparency and accountability in administrative services to students, staff, and the relevant community. Even though there are several challenges or obstacles such as limited infrastructure and human resource skills, solutions in the form of training, infrastructure improvements, and system integration can optimize digital archive management. The research results show that digitizing archives at Muhammadiyah University of Palangka Raya has the potential to improve the quality of public services which has an impact on stakeholder satisfaction and makes it easier to carry out administrative tasks as a whole.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has a significant impact on every aspect of life, including the emergence of one of the disturbing phenomena of online gambling and illegal online loans. Online gambling offers fantastic winnings that make victims addicted, while illegal online loans offer easy disbursement of funds that trap victims in financial problems. To increase awareness from an early age about the dangers of online gambling and illegal online loans, socialization activities were carried out for students of SMA Negeri-2 Palangka Raya. This socialization used an interactive lecture method with an audio-visual approach, case studies, simulations, and interactive quizzes. The results of the socialization showed that participants experienced an increase in understanding of the modus operandi and legal consequences of online gambling and illegal online loans and built critical awareness. In addition, participants also received education about the importance of wise financial management strategies as a preventive measure.

Abstract

The problem of beggars in Palangka Raya City is one of the complex social issues, reflecting social inequality and the failure of an inclusive social protection system. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze the implementation of the social rehabilitation program run by the Palangka Raya City Social Service to deal with beggars. This study collected data through interviews, observations, and documentation from various informants, including Social Service employees, social assistants, and beggars who had participated in the program. The study results indicate that the social rehabilitation program, which includes data collection, mental coaching, skills training, and social assistance, still faces various obstacles. The main challenges are low participation of beggars, limited rehabilitation facilities, a limited number of social assistants, and difficulties in social reintegration. In addition, the skills training provided is not fully practical due to limited job opportunities and post-rehabilitation support. However, some beggars have successfully undergone rehabilitation and live independently. This study recommends improvements in the capacity of rehabilitation facilities, the number of social assistants, a more holistic approach, and stronger economic empowerment to increase the program's effectiveness. It is hoped that with these steps, the social rehabilitation program can significantly impact beggars in Palangka Raya City.

Abstract

The Great Roundabout of Palangka Raya City is one of the city spaces with high symbolic value as a center of orientation and a landmark of regional pride. Along with urban dynamics and changes in people's lifestyles, this symbolic space has undergone a shift in function into an active public space. This study aims to analyze the transformation of the Great Roundabout of Palangka Raya City from a symbolic space into an active public space for sports communities, identify the factors driving the change, and examine its impact on the community's social life. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through field observations, interviews with space users and sports communities, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the Great Roundabout has undergone a significant transformation in function, marked by an increase in the intensity of space use for jogging, running, group exercise, and cycling activities carried out routinely by various community groups. This transformation is influenced by increasing public awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, the limited alternative green open spaces in urban areas, and the strategic accessibility of the Great Roundabout. The existence of sports communities plays a significant role in enlivening public spaces, encouraging social participation, and strengthening interactions between residents. The findings of this study provide implications for the management of urban public spaces based on community participation.
