Abstract

This research aims to improve students' low activity and ability in addition and subtraction using the "Rainbow Board" media. Using the Kemmis and McTaggart model of Classroom Action Research (PTK), this study systematically analyzed the impact of media intervention in two cycles involving 17 grade II students at MI Darussalam, Manding District, Sumenep. The study identified a significant increase in participation and cognitive learning outcomes: student activity increased drastically from 8 students in cycle I to 16 in cycle II, while learning completeness increased from 10 to 15 students, with a jump in grade average from 71 to 91. Theoretically, these findings confirm that the use of visual manipulative media serves as an effective "cognitive bridge" in aligning abstract mathematical logic with the student's concrete stages of operational development, as postulated by cognitive learning theory. These findings show that the use of Rainbow Board media successfully transforms classroom dynamics, making them more interactive, and effectively increases students' activity levels and basic counting ability.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an Hadis learning in Islamic elementary schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) is generally still delivered conventionally and in a teacher-centered manner, while students of the Primary Teacher Education for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (PGMI) program, as prospective teachers, have not fully mastered active teaching strategies based on digital technology; prior studies have mostly focused on developing media for students rather than strengthening prospective teachers' own pedagogical competence. This study aims to develop and analyze the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of an enjoyable Al-Qur'an Hadis learning model based on digital technology integration to strengthen the pedagogical competence of PGMI students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model and mixed methods, involving fifth-semester PGMI students at STAI Miftahul Ulum Tarate as research subjects. The results show that the developed model falls into the very valid category (material expert score 3.6; media expert score 3.5), is very practical (87% student response), and is effective in improving pedagogical competence, as indicated by an increase in pretest-posttest scores from 62.4 to 85.7 with an N-Gain of 0.62 (medium-to-high category). Thus, the model proved valid, practical, and effective in strengthening PGMI students' pedagogical competence while preparing them to become innovative, technologically adaptive prospective MI teachers.
