Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology has encouraged local governments to utilize online platforms as tools for development communication and public information dissemination. Government websites serve as strategic spaces for demonstrating accountability, providing development data, and strengthening engagement with citizens. However, the effectiveness of such platforms depends not only on the availability of information but also on the depth, clarity, and transparency of the messages presented. Within this context, this study explores how the Government of Bireuen Regency represents development communication and public information transparency through its official website from May to October 2025. Using qualitative content analysis guided by Krippendorff's framework, the research examines news articles, announcements, opinion pieces, and activity reports collected through systematic observation and documentation. The findings show that the government frequently employs positive, ceremonial, and legitimacy-oriented framing, particularly in topics related to social housing, participatory planning, budget refocusing, and educational revitalization. Although the website structure is well-organized, the transparency offered remains symbolic, with limited quantitative data, progress indicators, and technical details. These results highlight the need to strengthen substantive transparency through open data and participatory mechanisms so that the website can function as an effective instrument of public accountability

Abstract

The rapid development of social media has fundamentally transformed the landscape of social communication, particularly in addressing sensitive issues such as sexual abuse. This study aims to analyze the discourse of empathy that emerged toward victims of sexual abuse at an Islamic boarding school, which went viral through the Instagram account @ctd.insider. This research applies Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) framework, focusing on three dimensions: textual analysis, discursive practice, and socio-cultural practice. Data were collected through documentation techniques involving captions, comments, hashtags, and netizen visual reactions to the content posted on April 23, 2025. The results reveal that the use of emotive diction, narrative sentence structures, metaphorical language, and intertextuality with the film Bid’ah played a significant role in constructing the meaning of empathy in the digital space. The public did not merely consume information passively but actively participated in shaping digital solidarity through comments, content dissemination, and emotional expression. This empathy discourse also highlights resistance against traditional religious and gender-based power structures within the pesantren. On the social practice level, public responses via social media contribute to changing societal perspectives on religious authority, gender equality, and victim protection. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on digital empathy and underscores the importance of social media as an arena for producing new social meanings. The findings reinforce the argument that digital media can function as a tool for resisting structural injustice by promoting solidarity discourses and supporting victims' rights.

Abstract

This study aims to answer how intrapersonal communication within Akaza’s psychological conflict is represented through Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with semiotic analysis consisting of three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The primary data were collected from selected scenes that depict Akaza’s inner struggle through visual expressions, reflective dialogue, and the emergence of past figures that influence his emotional state. The findings indicate that Akaza’s intrapersonal communication is portrayed through flashbacks, self-dialogue, and shifting emotional expressions that reveal tension between his human values and his identity as a demon. At the denotative level, scenes display clear emotional and behavioral changes. At the connotative level, these signs reflect processes of rejection, doubt, and remorse experienced by Akaza. At the myth level, the anime conveys broader social values related to the meaning of strength, moral awareness, and the courage to acknowledge personal mistakes. This study contributes to communication studies by demonstrating how intrapersonal communication can be understood through visual and narrative signs within animated media.

Abstract

Penolakan tindakan medis (informed consent refusal) oleh pasien sakit terminal menimbulkan dilema hukum yang mendalam di Indonesia, mempertemukan otonomi pasien dengan hak perlindungan hukum bagi dokter. Berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 17 Tahun 2023 tentang Kesehatan, setiap orang berhak menolak tindakan medis, namun keputusan tersebut menempatkan dokter pada posisi rentan terhadap tuntutan pidana, gugatan perdata, atau sanksi administratif jika kondisi pasien memburuk hingga meninggal dunia. Penelitian hukum normatif dengan metode literature review ini bertujuan menganalisis kerangka perlindungan hukum bagi dokter terhadap penolakan tindakan medis oleh pasien terminal serta mengevaluasinya berdasarkan perspektif asas keadilan substantif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa perlindungan hukum bagi dokter diberikan secara preventif melalui dokumentasi informed refusal, rekam medis, dan kepatuhan standar pelayanan, serta secara represif melalui penyaringan sengketa oleh Majelis Disiplin Profesi dan pendekatan restorative justice. Berdasarkan asas keadilan substantif, dokter yang telah menjalankan kewajiban profesionalnya sesuai standar medis tidak dapat dimintai pertanggungjawaban atas risiko fatal akibat keputusan otonom pasien. Keadilan substantif menuntut pembagian tanggung jawab yang proporsional, di mana risiko medis beralih sepenuhnya kepada pasien setelah diberikan informasi komprehensif mengenai konsekuensi penolakan. Artikel ini menyimpulkan perlunya penguatan regulasi operasional guna menegaskan kedudukan hukum informed refusal sebagai klausul pembebas tanggung jawab hukum dokter yang bertindak dengan iktikad baik.
