Abstract

The development of cassava stem waste from year to year is increasing and the utilizationof cassava stem waste is not optimal because only 10% of the cassava stem height used forreplanting with the remaining 90% is not utilized at all. This study aims to utilize cassava stemwaste into charcoal briquettes as an alternative fuel by carbonizing or fabricating using fastpyrolysis reactors at 350 ° C for 4 hours to produce charcoal. Charcoal that has been formedis mixed with starch adhesives, molasses and cow dung with concentrations of 5, 10, and 15%and printed using a hydrolic press. The analysis results obtained, the value of water content(0.0015%), ash content (0.0212%), volatile matter values (2.33824%), heating value (7.184 cal/ g), combustion rate (46:52) and fixed carbon (98,0159%). Based on the results of the analysis,the optimal value of making charcoal from cassava stem waste is found in cow dung adhesive.

Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) processing wood in furniture is Wahyuillahi Furniture in Turen District, Malang Regency. This furniture business has been developed for about three years and continues today. The purpose of this activity is to develop the production of Wahyuillahi Furniture's furniture business by improving the quality of the production and packaging process through increasing the capacity of human resources, which is expected to increase the marketing reach of partners wider so that partners' income will increase and can improve the standard of living of the family. The method used is to provide training on marketing communication techniques, training and mentoring on E-Commerce; Provide tool assistance in the form of a more effective combination of a planner and a split saw; Provide training on BEP analysis and SWOT analysis, and simple finance; Conduct counseling and training activities on the understanding of engineered wood and furniture design. The service results are an increase in production from 0.8125 m3/month to 1.6 m3/month; The increase in consumer needs is increasing by an average of 17%. Turnover increased by 400%. The types of products produced increased by 200%. The refining process time is about three times faster; The length of the wood splitting process is 2.5 times faster; The number of marketing areas increased 2.5 times. The next plan is that the service team will periodically visit partners, namely Wahyu divine furniture, to help solve the problem.ABSTRAKSalah satu usaha mikro kecil menengah (UMKM) pengolahan kayu berupa mebel bernama Mebel Wahyuillahi Furniture di Kecamatan Turen Kabupaten Malang. Usaha mebel ini telah dikembangkan sekitar 3 tahun dan bertahan hingga saat ini. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah mengembangkan produksi usaha mebel Wahyuillahi Furniture dengan memperbaiki kualitas proses produksi dan pengemasan melalui peningkatkan kemampuan SDM yang diharapankan dapat meningkatkan daya jangkau pemasaran mitra semakin luas, sehingga pendapatan mitra akan bertambah dan dapat meningkatkan taraf hidup keluarga. Metode yang digunakan adalah memberikan pelatihan tentang teknik komunikasi pemasaran, pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang E-Commerce; Memberikan bantuan alat berupa kombinasi multifungsi alat planner dan gergaji belah yang lebih efektif; Memberikan pelatihan tentang analisa BEP dan analisis SWOT, dan keuangan sederhana; Melakukan kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang pemahaman kayu rekayasa dan design furniture. Hasil pengabdian yaitu peningkatan produksi yang awalnya 0.8125 m3/bulan menjadi 1.6 m3/bulan; Peningkatan kebutuhan konsumen rata-rata naik 17%. Omzet naik 400%. Jenis produk yang dihasilkan naik 200%. Lama proses penghalusan menjadi lebih cepat sekitar 3 kali lipat; Lama proses pembelahan kayu lebih cepat 2,5 kali lipat; Jumlah daerah pemasaran naik 2,5 kali lipat. Rencana selanjutnya yaitu tim pengabdi akan secara berkala mengunjungi mitra yaitu Wahyu illahi furniture untuk membantu pemecahan problem solving.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) "Lancar Jaya" Bricks in Turen District, Malang Regency, East Java produce bricks. In the results of the situation analysis, it was found that the most urgent problem was the production capacity of SMEs which could not be optimal in producing bricks because they only had one kneading tool, which was used interchangeably with several other groups of workers, so that the time used for production was not very effective. In addition, it has narrow land, so the drying process is also limited for production. Market demand began to decline. To increase the production of bricks, the solution offered in the production field is to make the primary production tool more effective and efficient and to make a firm mixture of bricks. In business management, the solution offered is to increase the human resource capacity of business actors through training and mentoring. Outcome targets include appropriate technological tools in the form of modifications to serial brick mixing tools, activity videos, national journals with ISSN, e-proceedings, and mass media. The results of this program are the effectiveness of the three series red brick mixer machine by 75%, an increase in production capacity of 200%, and an increase in income turnover of 30%. The increase in marketing area from 1 city to 3 city areas and the quality of red bricks produce good products that are not easily broken, only 90% of the products produced.\ABSTRAKUsaha mikro kecil menengah (UMKM) Batu Bata “Lancar Jaya” di Kecamatan Turen Kabupaten Malang Jawa Timur memproduksi batu bata. Pada hasil analisis situasi ditemukan bahwa masalah yang paling urgen adalah kemampuan produksi UMKM yang tidak bisa optimal dalam memproduksi hasil batu bata karena hanya memiliki 1 buah alat adonan yang digunakan bergantian dengan beberapa kelompok pekerja lainnya sehingga waktu yang dipergunakan untuk memproduki sangat tidak  efektif. Selain itu memiliki lahan yang sempit sehingga proses penjemurannya juga terbatas untuk produksi. Permintaan pasar mulai menurun. Untuk meningkatkan produksi batu batanya, solusi yang ditawarkan di bidang produksi adalah membuat alat utama produksi yang lebih efektif dan efisien serta membuat komposisi campuran adonan batu bata yang kuat. Di bidang manajemen usaha, solusi yang ditawarkan adalah peningkatan kemampuan SDM pelaku usaha melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan. Target-target luaran yang disusun antara lain adalah alat teknologi tepat guna berupa modifikasi alat adonan batu bata berseri, video kegiatan, jurnal nasional ber-ISSN, e-prosiding dan media massa. Hasil dari program ini adalah efektivitas mesin mixer bahan batu bata merah 3 series sebesar 75%, peningkatan kapasitas produksi 200%, omzet penghasilan meningkat 30%. Peningkatan luas pemasaran dari 1 wilayah kota menjadi 3 wilayah kota dan kualitas batu bata merah menghasilkan produk yang bagus tidak mudah pecah hanya 90% dari produk yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

There are many ways for preserving wood through the use of agricultural or biomass waste like bamboo. Its utilization can be used as a safe natural wood preservative for the community. In order to obtain a qualified liquid smoke and consumed-safe it is necessary to engineer the condenser conduit pipes. As a consequence, this study needs a performance test of condenser conduit pipe on pyrolysis reactor device. The purpose of this study is to determine the performance quality of pyrolysis reactor device based on the optimum of long condenser conduit pipe and to determine the reaction order. In this study, the pyrolysis process of 2,5 kgs bamboo was using a pyrolysis reactor in optimum operating conditions, conducted with condenser conduit pipes size 23 cm, 33 cm, 43 cm, 53 cm, 63 cm and 73 cm at temperature of 250ºC for 2 hours. The results of this study indicate that the optimal liquid smoke yield is obtained from 23 cm long condenser conduit pipe (21.66%); the mass of lost material is 52.49% found in 73 cm pipe; the performance of the pyrolysis reactor is 206.25 found in 23 cm pipe g/hour.m; and the reaction occured was included as the first order of reaction.

Abstract

Indonesia menduduki posisi ke dua setelah cina penghasil sampah plastik terbesar di dunia. Dimana salah satu limbah plastik tersebut adalah HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). Sedangkan plastik merupakan produk hasil pengolahan minyak bumi yang dapat direcycle ke bentuk semulanya karena bahan baku pembuatan limbah plastik adalah nafta yang merupakan salah satu unsur dari minyak bumi. Salah satu solusi yang diperlukan adalah recycle dengan mengubah limbah plastik menjadi bahan bakar dengan proses pirolisis. Pirolisis merupakan salah satu proses terbaik dari recycle limbah plastik, dengan pertimbangan memahami sifat limbah plastik HDPE. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat pirolisis dengan variable suhu proses yaitu 300⸰C, 325⸰C, dan 350⸰C, waktu proses pirolisis yaitu 2 dan 4 jam. Dari proses pirolisis diperoleh hasil volume bahan bakar diesel yaitu pada suhu 300⸰C sebanyak 95 ml, suhu 325⸰C sebanyak 100 ml, dan suhu 350⸰C sebanyak 145 ml. Dari hasil analisa data optimal  untuk suhu dan waktu optimum proses pirolisis limbah plastik HDPE yaitu pada suhu 325⸰C selama 2 jam, bahan bakar diesel yang didapat memiliki kadar abu 0,044 (b/b), dan kadar air 0,031(%vol). ABSTRACTIndonesia is in second place after China, the largest plastic waste producer in the world. Where one of the plastic wastes is HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene). Meanwhile, plastic is a product of petroleum processing that can be recycled to its original form because the raw material for making plastic waste is naphtha, which is an element of petroleum. One solution that is needed to recycle by converting plastic waste into fuel by the pyrolysis process. Pyrolysis is one of the best processes for recycling plastic waste, with consideration of understanding the nature of HDPE plastic waste. This study used a pyrolysis tool with process temperature variables, namely 300⸰C, 325⸰C, and 350⸰C, the pyrolysis process time was 2 and 4 hours. From the pyrolysis process, the results of the volume of diesel fuel are at a temperature of 300 ⸰C as much as 95 ml, a temperature of 325 C as much as 100 ml, and a temperature of 350 ⸰C as much as 145 ml. From the results of the optimal data analysis for the optimum temperature and time of the HDPE plastic waste pyrolysis process, which is at a temperature of 325⸰C for 2 hours, the obtained diesel fuel has an ash content of 0.044 (w / w), and a moisture content of 0.031 (vol%).
