Abstract

This research aims to develop a financing model for waqf forest management based on Sharia accounting to support economic, ecological, and ecosystem sustainability. The use of waqf in Islam has evolved from a consumptive function to a productive social financial instrument. In this research, waqf forests are a strategic innovation that not only has ecological value but also has the potential to provide sustainable economic benefits to the community. However, a structured financing model that complies with Sharia accounting principles is not yet available, even though financial transparency and accountability are crucial for managing natural resource-based waqf. This research proposes the development of a Green Waqf Finance Model, a waqf financing scheme that integrates Sharia accounting standards (PSAK 112 and AAOIFI), the principles of maqasid sharia, and a green finance approach. Using exploratory qualitative methods and a case study of the waqf forest in Ngembat Village, Mojokerto, this research explores actual practices, formulates relevant accounting principles, and develops a waqf reporting framework that integrates spiritual, economic, social, and ecological dimensions. The novelty of this research lies in the rarely researched subject of waqf forests, the integration of the triple bottom line in waqf reporting, and its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda. The final results are expected to serve as academic and practical references for waqf managers, regulators, and Islamic financial institutions in developing fair, transparent, and sustainable financing systems.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of halal tourism in East Java in promoting cultural exchange and intercultural understanding, as well as examining the influence of halal attributes, culture and halal tourism services on Muslim tourists' satisfaction and their revisit intention. Using quantitative methods with purposive random sampling, this research involved 200 respondents who were Muslim tourists visiting halal tourist destinations in East Java. Data was analyzed using SmartPLS to test the relationship between variables. The research results show that halal attributes have a significant positive influence on Muslim tourist satisfaction, with a p-value of 0.002 < 0.05. Local culture also has a significant positive effect on tourist satisfaction, with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. Halal tourism services, which include sharia-compliant accommodation and facilities, have a significant positive influence on tourist satisfaction, with a p-value of 0.004 < 0.05. Apart from that, high tourist satisfaction has been proven to increase the revisit intention to halal tourist destinations in East Java, with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. This research highlights the importance of developing halal attributes, promoting rich local culture, and improving tourism services in accordance with Islamic principles to increase tourist satisfaction and encourage repeat visits. These findings provide practical implications for tourism managers in East Java in their efforts to develop better and more sustainable halal tourism.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Islamic values in marketing communication on brand equity, focusing on brand awareness and brand image as outcome variables. Islamic values in marketing communication are conceptualized through three dimensions: honesty and truthfulness, ethical marketing communication, and Islamic-based social responsibility. A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method, with data collected from 250 Muslim consumers. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS to test the proposed relationships. The results reveal that honesty and truthfulness have a positive and significant effect on both brand awareness and brand image. Ethical marketing communication also significantly enhances brand awareness and brand image by fostering consumer trust and positive brand perceptions. Furthermore, Islamic-based social responsibility communication positively influences brand awareness and brand image, indicating that socially responsible messages aligned with Islamic principles strengthen brand equity. Overall, the findings confirm that integrating Islamic values into marketing communication serves as a strategic approach to building strong brand equity in Muslim-oriented markets. This study contributes to the Islamic marketing literature by providing empirical evidence on the role of value-based communication in enhancing brand awareness and brand image.
