Abstract

Englishis an important language to communicate for any levels of students. Unfortunetely, although thestudents get this language from early, they still cannot master it well. They are not good in passing many skills ofEnglish, just like the speakingskill, writingskill, readingskill, and also listening skill. As a matter of the factabove, it makes the teachers have an additional duty to give a better method in teaching them in order that theycan accept the lesson well and get a better result at the end. That is why the researcher is interested inconducting a method, reading instruction, to be implemented in EngineeringDepartment of ITN Malang in thefirst semester.Here, the researcher faces a problem, thatis “how can reading instructionincrease students’comprehension inunderstanding EnglishEngineering”. This study is intended to see how the readinginstructioncan increase students’ comprehension in understanding English Engineering. The researcher uses twotypes of reading instruction, those are: direct and indirect instruction.Getting the data, the researcher uses a classaction research because he takes the data by himself. He teaches the students by the help of a collaborator. Toget the data, the researcher uses an interview, observation, test, questionnaire, and also documentation as theinstruments. Here, the researcher conducts two cycles, in which every cycle consists of four steps, those are:planning, acting, observing and evaluating, and also reflecting. During the two cycles conducted, the students getimprovement. At the first cycle, the students get a mean as 77.75. Meanwhile at the second cycle, they get themean as 88.67. From this result, it is shown that the method is successful. Some suggestions are extended for theother researchers. The other researchers are suggested to apply this method to other skill of English, just like atspeaking subject or take the different subject of the study for the next research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini pada dasarnya adalah ingin mengukur seberapa besar kesenjangan yang terjadi antara kepuasan siswa dalam hal layanan yang telah diberikan oleh SMA NEGERI I Lawang (SMANELA) dengan layanan yang mereka harapkan, Untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa atas pelayanan yang diberikan oleh SMANELA, serta ingin memberikan usulan action plan untuk peningkatan kualitas layanan di Sekolah.Dari hasil analisis dengan mengunakan metode SERVQUAL, terdapat tiga dimensi yang terjadi sebuah gap/kesenjangan negatif diseluruh dimensi dan hal ini harus diperhatikan oleh pihak sekolah karena merupakan harapan dari para siswa. Kepuasan terhadap pelayanan yang diberikan oleh sekolah adalah berdasarkan hasil analisis serqual secara keseluruhan kualitas pelayanan yang diberikan oleh SMANELA adalah baik, di mana hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai kualitas yang mendekati 1 yaitu Q = 0,956 (Q  1). Kesenjangan yang terjadi antara kepuasan siswa mengenai layanan yang telah diberikan oleh sekolah dengan layanan yang mereka harapkan adalah masih tinggi harapan siswa dari pada kenyataan yang diberikan oleh SMANELA. Di sini terdapat kesenjangan dari seluruh dimensi yang terbesar dari kelima dimensi tersebut adalah pada dimensi tangible, yang memiliki gap sebesar 0,425. Peningkatkan kualitas pelayanan di SMANELA dengan metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD) adalah berdasarkan masing-masing variabel perlu ditingkatkan.

Abstract

The results of the observation conducted by the research team at the milk processing company in the waste, the phase of waste destruction through the stage of one of them is the disposal of milk from the bottle is still using the manual tool when the bottle hole and pour the milk fluid into the tub. The milk disposal time in the bottle can be optimised with ergonomic tool design process. The meaning of ergonomic design is the design of a tool that generates a working system using the size of Anthropometri, while the research is focused on ergonomic tool design that can be used by the operator with the effective efficient, safe and comfortable result. With the stage conducted by the research team was conducting surveys, study of literture, data collection, formulating problems, analyzing and outdoor that is targeted is optimal model design tool using size anthropometri with height of shoulders when standing along the 138.5 cm, reach of the fore hands 72cm, the range of the side hand of 71cm, the height of the elbow when standing 104 cm and the knee height when standing 49 cm by saving the discharge time by 37%.
