Abstract

Pregnancy is a physiological process accompanied by physical, hormonal, and psychological changes that may trigger pregnancy-related stress. Maternal stress during pregnancy can disrupt hormonal balance, reduce immune function, adversely affect fetal development, and increase the risk of pregnancy complications. This study aimed to pregnancy-related stress level between primigravida and multigravida women attending a primary healthcare center in Malang City, Indonesia. This quantitative study employed a comparative cross-sectional design. The study was conducted at Janti Public Health Center, Sukun District, Malang City, from May–June 2025 among 64 pregnant women, comprising 32 primigravidas and 32 multigravidas, selected using purposive sampling. The inclusion criteria were primigravida and multigravida pregnant women with low-risk pregnancies who could operate mobile phones, while the exclusion criteria were pregnant women who received psychological therapy. Pregnancy-related stress were measured using the Pregnancy Stress Rating Scale (PSRS-36) and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test (α = 0.05). The results showed that most primigravida experienced moderate (37.5%) and high (31.2%) levels of pregnancy-related stress, while multigravida were predominantly moderate (62.5%). There was a significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.046) with an average level of pregnancy-related stress in primigravida of 36.80 higher than in multigravida of 28.20. This study shows levels of pregnancy-related stress in primigravida mothers are higher than those in multigravida mothers, confirming that previous pregnancy experiences play a role in maternal psychological adaptation. These findings contribute to the understanding of pregnancy-related stress in the context of primary healthcare in Indonesia. Therefore, integrating pregnancy-related stress screening into routine antenatal care, as well as providing education and family support for first-time pregnant women, should be considered as strategies for early detection and management of pregnancy-related stress during pregnancy.

Abstract

Abstract

Early childhood is a "golden age" of development, making parental caregiving crucial to a child's growth; however, parenting practices in Indonesia remain varied and suboptimal. The TikTok account @rensia_sanvira serves as a source of parenting education. This study aimed to determine the relationship between exposure to parenting education via the @rensia_sanvira TikTok account and the parenting behaviors of mothers at TK Teratai Temas. A correlational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach was employed, involving a population of 75 mothers; purposive sampling was used to select a sample of 63 mothers who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a questionnaire on exposure to parenting content and the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (Preschool Revision), then analyzed using the Spearman Rank. The results showed that the majority of mothers had a moderate level of exposure to parenting content (47.6%) and predominantly practiced positive parenting (52.4%). Statistical analysis yielded a p-value of 0.091 (p>0.05), indicating no significant relationship between exposure to parenting education from the TikTok account @rensia_sanvira and the mothers' parenting behaviors. This is likely because high levels of exposure are not always accompanied by optimal attention, and parenting behavior is influenced by various other factors such as education, socio-economic status, and intergenerational parenting traditions suggesting that digital education needs to be complemented by other approaches.

Abstract

Background: In today’s digital age, people can easily access information—particularly regarding reproductive health—through various digital platforms. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are caused by pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, or parasites that are transmitted between people through bodily fluids. For adolescents, puberty marks a transitional phase accompanied by significant physical and psychological changes. This period can sometimes lead to risky sexual behavior, which increases the potential for the transmission of sexually transmitted infections. Most adolescents today have ample access to the internet to obtain information about reproductive health. Purpose: To analyze the relationship between digital reproductive health literacy and STI prevention behaviors among female adolescents. Method: A correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was employed. The study population consisted of 156 female students in grades 10 and 12, from which a sample of 114 students was selected using proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using the bivariate Fisher’s exact test. Results: Students’ digital reproductive health literacy was mostly in the moderate category (52.6%), while the absolute majority demonstrated good STI prevention behaviors (97.4%). The significance test yielded a p-value of 0.603 (p-value >0.05), meaning the null hypothesis (H0) was accepted. Therefore, there is no significant association between digital reproductive health literacy and STI prevention behaviors among these female adolescents. Conclusion: Digital reproductive health literacy was not significantly associated with STI prevention behaviors in this study. The findings suggest that digital reproductive health literacy alone may not explain variations in STI prevention behavior, while other contextual factors may also be relevant and warrant further investigation.
