Abstract

The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become a critical component in vocational education, particularly in enhancing student competencies. This study aims to examine the relationship between ICT integration and student competency at SMK Nurul Ulum. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 22 students selected through total sampling. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression techniques. The findings indicated a positive correlation between ICT integration and student competency (r = 0.341); however, this relationship was not statistically significant (p = 0.121). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.116) showed that ICT integration accounted for 11.6% of the variance in student competency, while the remaining 88.4% was influenced by other factors. The study concludes that ICT integration demonstrates a positive tendency toward improving student competencies, yet its impact is limited and requires reinforcement from pedagogical strategies, teacher digital literacy, and a supportive learning environment.

Abstract

Many academics have researched the use of Zoom interactive media at various levels of education. However, little research has been conducted on the use of Zoom interactive media in rural areas. This study details the use of Zoom in a junior high school located in a rural area in Bondowoso Regency, East Java, along with the various problems encountered. This research uses narrative research with the aim of analyzing the experiences of two informatics teachers in using interactive Zoom media in rural areas. Information was obtained through narrative stories/interviews conducted repeatedly and direct observation to maintain data validity. These results suggest that narrative research has three dimensions: looking back (reasons and motivations of participants), looking inward (implementation of Zoom interactive media), looking forward (goals and expectations in using Zoom in Informatics Education). The study's conclusion is that the primary elements influencing the usage of interactive Zoom media in the classroom are a teacher's proficiency, educational background, expertise with technology, and sufficient facilities for students.

Abstract

This study compares the effectiveness of digital and conventional learning methods on students' retention at MA Tuhfatul Ulum. Traditional methods, particularly lectures, dominate the educational process but have limited effectiveness in engaging students actively. In contrast, digital learning methods, such as educational games, provide an innovative approach that enhances student engagement and retention. This research uses a quantitative comparative method with a sample of 47 students. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results, analyzed using One-Way ANOVA, indicate a significant difference in retention scores between the digital learning group (Mean = 81.09) and the conventional learning group (Mean = 56.52), with a significance value of 0.000. These findings demonstrate that digital methods, which encourage active participation and multisensory engagement, significantly improve long-term memory retention compared to traditional methods. Therefore, the study recommends the integration of digital learning tools to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning.
