Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the implementation of news coverage on the digitalization of broadcasting and explore the online media reporting model for the digitalization of broadcasting in Indonesia. The online media reporting model encourages people to migrate from analogue to digital television platforms. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method to analyze news from the online media www.Detikcom edition November 1, 2022 to November 16, 2022. Additionally, it utilized Nvivo 12+ software for the data analysis. Detikcom was selected as the data source because it had been ranked as one of the top five online news media most accessed by the public, reaching 320.3 million visits. Most smartphone users, approximately 98%, have visited this site. Based on the researchers' analysis, ten media contents of Detikcom reported the transition from analogue to digital television. The research findings suggested that there is a configuration model for online media reporting on broadcast digitalization. In addition, the online media reporting model identifies the dynamics of the shift from analogue to digital television. The dynamic shift is influenced by economic, juridical, technical, and political views. These findings are expected to provide valuable insights for future researchers studying the digital broadcasting ecosystem in Indonesia post-ASO (Analogue Switch-Off) or post-digitalization.

Abstract

Social media is an important space for people with disabilities to build communities, express their aspirations, and shape self-representation. However, social media can also expand digital ableism through ridicule, physical parody, demeaning comments, exploitation of economic conditions, and content that subjects people with disabilities to entertainment. This article aims to explain how bullying of people with disabilities gains attention and is considered normal in digital media, and to propose a more inclusive communication model. This research uses an integrative qualitative literature review method. The sources analyzed include scholarly articles, policy documents, and theoretical literature related to cyberbullying, ableism, disability representation, social media algorithms, framing, agenda-setting, online disinhibition, and moral disengagement. Data were analyzed through thematic coding and conceptual synthesis. The results of the study reveal six main mechanisms driving digital bullying of people with disabilities: the commodification of difference, diminished individual responsibility in online spaces, justification through the phrase "just kidding," framing disability as a spectacle, content amplification by algorithms, and weak platform governance. This article proposes three strategies for cyberspace recovery: building dignity-based counter-narratives, reducing interactions with discriminatory content, and strengthening platform advocacy and oversight. The study emphasizes that digital bullying is not solely driven by individual behavior, but also by social media culture and the attention economy. Therefore, strengthening disability literacy, developing guidelines for inclusive content production, developing more responsive moderation systems, and involving people with disabilities in digital media governance are necessary.
