Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions of the deep learning approach and its implementation in learning at the elementary and secondary school levels in Melawi Regency. The research was carried out in January-March 2025 and used a mixed methods method with a sequential explanatory design that combines quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitative data was collected through questionnaires to 20 teachers at SD Negeri 13 Nanga Pinoh and SMP Negeri 2 Pinoh Utara, while qualitative data was obtained through in-depth interviews with four teachers who were selected purposively. The results showed that teachers' perception of deep learning was in the very positive category with an average percentage of 84.64% in the dimensions of concept understanding, attitude, implementation, as well as supporting factors and obstacles. Teachers understand that deep learning emphasizes meaningful experiences, reflection, collaboration, and the relevance of the material to students' real lives. The implementation of deep learning is considered quite good even though it still faces several obstacles such as time constraints, authentic assessments, and the use of learning technology. Qualitative findings reinforce quantitative outcomes through real-world descriptions of exploratory and project-based learning practices in the classroom. This study concludes that teachers have a high readiness to implement deep learning as part of the learning transformation in the Independent Curriculum, and emphasizes the need for continuous training and school support.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of the slametan tradition as local wisdom in contextual learning through a literature review of 20 relevant articles. The study was conducted using the systematic literature review method which involves the process of identification, selection, and thematic analysis of articles that contain the development of teaching materials, local cultural integration, and innovative learning approaches. The results of the synthesis show that most of the studies apply ADDIE development and research and development models, as well as utilize the local cultural context as a reinforcement of learning meaning. The integration of cultural values, including the slametan tradition, has been proven to be able to improve concept understanding, cultural literacy, and student learning engagement through learning experiences that are closer to social reality. Previous research also confirms that local wisdom makes a significant contribution to character building, appreciation for diversity, and strengthening cultural identity. However, there is still a research gap related to the systematic use of local traditions in contextual learning in schools. These findings show that the integration of local wisdom needs to be formulated in the form of teaching materials or a more structured learning model. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of using local culture, especially the slamutan tradition, to enrich the learning context and increase the relevance of the material for students.

Abstract

This research aims to examine food as a cultural text in the Javanese Village Clean tradition through the perspective of gastrocriticism with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. A total of 25 selected articles were analyzed using the PRISMA flow to explore how food functions as a symbol, a medium of communication, and a representation of cultural identity in the context of Javanese rituals. The results of the study show that ritual foods such as tumpeng, jenang, and offerings have a construction of meaning related to Javanese cosmology, social solidarity, and community value structure. An analysis of the cultural theories of Barthes, Douglas, and Lévi-Strauss reveals that food is not only an object of consumption, but also a system of signs that negotiates man's relationship with nature, ancestors, and communities. Most previous studies have focused on symbolic or ethnographic aspects, while this study found gaps in the integration of culinary discourse analysis with the dynamics of modernity. These findings confirm the need for a multidisciplinary approach to reading food as a cultural text, while also opening up space for further research on the transformation of traditional culinary meanings in contemporary social change. Thus, this study makes a conceptual and methodological contribution to the development of culinary cultural studies, especially in the context of Javanese rituals.
