Abstract

There is growing public concern that using Artificial Intelligence (AI) may threaten human aesthetic values and creative expression, potentially undermining the preservation of local cultural heritage. However, some argue that AI integration in the arts could enhance artistic inclusivity by expanding accessibility and fostering more interactive and engaging artistic experiences. Thus, it is crucial to explore AI's application in art with a nuanced understanding and a balanced approach to safeguard the essence of inclusivity. This study examines the impact of AI integration in artistic works, particularly its implications for artistic inclusivity. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with five art professionals recruited via snowball sampling. Thematic analysis was conducted using artistic inclusivity as the primary interpretive lens. The findings reveal a consensus among participants that AI's presence in art is inevitable. However, they contend that AI will not fundamentally alter the nature of art or replace human creativity. Instead, AI is perceived as a potential tool to strengthen inclusivity, particularly by enhancing accessibility. This study contributes valuable insights into AI's impact on artistic inclusivity and offers guidance for artists to leverage technology responsibly, creating inclusive, sustainable, and culturally rich artworks. The findings also prompt further discussion on the ethics of AI in art and the need to balance technological innovation with the preservation of cultural identity.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia led to the collapse of national health facilities and the economy, which resulted in the acceleration of the invention of COVID-19 vaccines. However, only 54.9% of the population is willing to be vaccinated due to fake news or hoaxes. The government urges the public to obey regulations, especially in public spaces, and intensifies socialization through various media, such as YouTube. This study aims to determine the critical elements that compose the video on the YouTube channel so that it can be used as a medium to persuade the wider community. This study used qualitative methods to collect visual and textual data from purposively selected videos and screenshots, which were analyzed using communication theory for persuasion and a constructionist approach to interpret the data and identify variables such as the message's source, characteristics of the recipient, and purpose of the message. The Indonesian Ministry of Health and the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board collaborated to create a 2-minute, 53-second video on the importance of vaccination in Indonesia, particularly for Muslims. The video features PBNU's Health Head, dr. Syahrizal Syarif effectively educates the public on vaccination's significance and emphasizes community unity to support the government's vaccination program. The communicator in the video successfully positioned himself as a religious leader and doctor. The video is effective in communicating three key messages. It uses persuasive communication theory, using YouTube's power to influence people's opinions, suggesting that the government should use digital platforms to deliver more messages to the citizens in the future.

Abstract

Social media has become a space where brands express Islamic values to build trust and authenticity, raising new ethical questions about the boundary between sincere spirituality and commercial exploitation. This study investigates the ethical discourse of Islamic marketing communication on Instagram through a case study of @jsrstore, the official store of Dr. Zaidul Akbar, a prominent figure in Indonesia’s Islamic wellness movement. Drawing on Kartajaya and Sula’s four-pillar framework of Islamic marketing (teistic, ethical, realistic, and humanistic), the research analyzes how these principles are linguistically and discursively enacted in caption texts and audience interactions. Employing virtual ethnography and qualitative content analysis of 20 Instagram posts, complemented by interview data, the study reveals that @jsrstore consistently embeds spiritual intentionality (niyyah), truthfulness (ṣidq), transparency, and relational care into its digital narratives. This integration transforms commercial messaging into a form of digital da’wah, fostering trust, emotional resonance, and perceived authenticity among Muslim consumers. The findings advance Islamic communication theory by proposing a discourse-based model that transcends symbolic religiosity, demonstrating how ethical values can be performatively realized in social media branding while offering practical insights for marketers seeking to align digital engagement with Islamic ethics in Muslim-majority contexts.

Abstract

In the rapidly evolving digital era, the use of digital marketing strategies has become an urgent necessity for social institutions such as Relawan Gemar Sedekah to enhance visibility and donation support. By employing an approach that integrates fine art elements, this community engagement initiative aims to implement effective digital marketing strategies to improve public understanding of the institution's mission and values, as well as to motivate society to participate in charitable activities. By analyzing public perception and responses toward fine art-based content presented in digital marketing campaigns, this initiative can develop more impactful and measurable strategies. The targeted outcomes include the development of a practical guide for digital marketing using a fine art approach, increased online visibility for Relawan Gemar Sedekah, and a rise in the number and frequency of donations received. Therefore, it is expected that this initiative will contribute significantly to strengthening the position of social institutions in an increasingly complex and competitive digital landscape, while also amplifying their positive impact in aiding those in need of assistance. Abstract

Crime prevention in densely populated urban areas such as Jebres, Surakarta, presents a serious challenge that requires preventive solutions grounded in interior and environmental design. Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) offers a practical approach by leveraging physical interior design to minimize opportunities for criminal activity. This community service project aimed to implement fundamental CPTED principles within residential interiors as a preventive strategy against crime in densely inhabited neighborhoods. The partners in this initiative were residents of Jebres, Surakarta, a densely populated urban community vulnerable to security threats. The methodology combined education, design simulation, and case-based mentoring applied to selected residential units. Five core CPTED principles were adapted: natural surveillance, access control, territorial reinforcement, maintenance, and target hardening, all implemented through participatory engagement. The outcomes indicate that CPTED-integrated interior design significantly enhances residents' perception of safety and fosters greater community awareness and active participation in maintaining a secure environment. An interior design sensitive to security aspects serves as both an educational tool and a practical preventive measure. These findings underscore that design interventions at the residential scale yield meaningful social impacts. Applying CPTED at the household level not only improves physical security but also strengthens social cohesion. Therefore, the results of this service project are significant as a replicable model of design-based preventive strategies that can be adopted in other urban communities facing similar challenges.
