Abstract

This study used the guided discovery learning model to (1) determine students' mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII probability material at SMP Negeri Wonggeduku. (2) to determine the effectiveness of the guided discovery learning model on students' mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII opportunity materials at SMP Negeri Wonggeduku. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental or (quasi-experimental) research design with a nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The number of samples in the study was 50, divided into 25 samples for the experimental class and 25 for the control class. The sampling technique is random sampling. The data collection technique is a written test. There are two data analysis techniques, namely descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The descriptive analysis results showed that the experimental class's average learning outcomes, with a value of 70,83, were higher than the control class, with a value of 63,06. In contrast, the results of the inferential analysis obtained the value of t count = 2,178 > tel 1,677. So, the research test shows that ho is rejected, H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. Namely, the average mathematics learning outcomes of students who receive guided discovery learning models are more effective than students who receive conventional learning.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of learning motivation on the mathematics learning outcomes of 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Meluhu. The research method used is Ex-Post Facto, which aims to identify the cause-and-effect relationship between the independent variable (learning motivation) and the dependent variable (mathematics learning outcomes) after an event or phenomenon. The study population comprises 29 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Meluhu in the academic year 2021/2022, divided into two classes. The sample was selected using the Random Sampling method, ensuring that each individual in the population had an equal chance of being selected. Data were collected through a learning motivation questionnaire and mid-semester exam scores (UTS) recording. The research results indicate that learning motivation has a moderate influence on students' mathematics learning outcomes, with an average learning motivation score of 44. In contrast, students' mathematics learning outcomes fall within the moderate category, with an average score of 55. Simple linear regression analysis revealed that each one-point increase in student learning motivation contributes to a 0.782-point increase in mathematics learning outcomes. In conclusion, learning motivation significantly influences the mathematics learning outcomes of 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Meluhu, with learning motivation explaining approximately 68% of the variation in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

An engaging learning process will affect learning outcomes and student activeness during the learning process. The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of the combinatory use of Number Head Together and Two Stay Two Stray learning models on the scores of high school students’ mathematical tests and learning activeness. It was an experimental-based study with One Group Pre test Post-test design. The population of this study was all high school students in Kendari, with Cluster Random Sampling as the method to choose the sample. Final test and observation were used as instruments to collect data. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the One Sample t-test. Results showed that (1) the combinatory use of both learning models improved learning outcome by increasing students’ average test scores from an average score of 68 (pre-test) to an average of 83 (post-test) with a gain value of 0.71; (2) the learning models had a positive influence on student activeness during the learning process, proven by a score of 3.3 (positive category). It was also evidenced by the results of the t-test showing that the t-count score was greater than the t-table. Therefore, the combinatory use of Number Head Together and Two Stay Two Stray learning models has a significant effect on increasing the learning outcome and learning activeness of high school students in the mathematic class.

Abstract

Taxonomy solo is a classification of real responses from students. This research aims to identify the effect of students' responses based on a solo taxonomy in mathematics learning on learning activity and learning outcomes. This research is a mixed-method with an explanatory sequential design. The data were collected using observation instruments, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The data was analyzed inferentially and narratively. Based on the results, students who are at the extended abstract response level are classified as very active and having very high learning outcomes, students who are at the relational response level are identified as active and having high learning outcomes, students who are at the multi-structural response level are identified as active and having moderate learning outcomes, students who are at the Uni-structural response level are identified as active and having moderate learning outcomes, and students who are at the pre-structural response level are identified as less active and having low learning outcomes. Thus, it can be interpreted that students' responses based on solo taxonomy in mathematics learning affect activeness and learning outcomes.
