Abstract

Pain in the delivery process is caused by uterine contractions which cause cervical dilatation and hypoxia in the uterine muscles. One effort to help reduce labor pain in the active phase 1 is by applying cold compresses . The cold compress will numb the affected area by slowing the transmission of pain through the sensory neurons . This study aims to determine the effect of cold compresses on reducing labor pain in the active phase 1 at Dr. Oen Solo Baru . : This type of research is quantitative research with a quasy experimental design . The research design uses pre and post test group design. The research sample was 30 mothers during the first active phase of labor in the maternity ward of Dr. Oen Solo Baru. The research instrument was a cold compress given for 20 minutes and a pain intensity measuring instrument according to Numerical Rating Scale ( NRS ). Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test . Most of the respondents before being given a cold compress experienced labor pain during the first active phase of the heavy category. All of the respondents after being given a cold compress experienced labor pain when I was in the moderate category of active faeces. The average level of labor pain during the first active phase before being given a cold compress for 20 minutes was 6.83. The average pain level during labor during the first active phase after being given cold compresses decreased to 5.33. The Wilcoxon test results obtained obtained p-value = 0.000 . There is an effect of cold compresses on reducing labor pain during the first active phase at Dr. Oen Solo Baru with p = 0.000 . There is an effect of cold compresses on reducing labor pain during the first active phase at Dr. Oen Solo Baru . Cold compresses can be an alternative in reducing labor pain.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the problem of nutrition in toddlers is still a public health problem, especially in areas with low levels of nutrition. The purpose of this study was to see how Cokkies JAKATE (corn, green beans, and tempeh) given as additional food affects the health of toddlers aged 24 to 59 months who are malnourished. In Ngrundul Village, Kebonarum District, Klaten Regency, there were 50 toddlers involved in this study, which was conducted using a quantitative approach with a single-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements before and after the intervention, and the Wilcoxon statistical test was used to analyze it. The results showed that after the 14-day intervention, the toddlers' weight increased by an average of 0.49 kg and the average height by 1.22 cm, with a p value of 0.05 each. This shows that the provision of Cokkies JAKATE has a significant impact on improving toddler nutrition. Foods such as green beans, corn, and tempeh contain vegetable protein, vitamins, and minerals that can help growth and increase weight quickly. This study shows that the use of local supplementary food can be an effective method to prevent malnutrition in children. To ensure that similar programs are successful at the community level, long-term implementation and sustainability monitoring are essential.

Abstract

Marriage is the beginning of healthy reproduction. The large number of divorce phenomena in teenage marriages and unhealthy pregnancies have increased maternal morbidity and mortality. This Community Service provides religious premarital education, conflict management psychology and healthy pregnancy preparation at the Karanganom Klaten health center. This Community Service uses lecture, question and answer and role play methods which will be completed on 1-3 July 2023. The target is teenage couples who are about to get married. The results of the service were obtained as many as 30 premarital couple participants took part in the Bride and Groom Candidate (Catin) class. It was found that the prospective bride and groom's knowledge before the catin training activity at the Karanganom Community Health Center was found to be 45.01 ± 11.24. After the catin training was carried out, the respondent's knowledge increased by 78.88 ± 12.61. The results of statistical tests show that there is a significant increase in knowledge. This means that youth training in marriage preparation is effective for prospective brides and grooms. This activity can be a community-based pre-marital education option that can be carried out independently or as part of an existing community empowerment initiative, such as a youth posyandu or youth organization.

Abstract

Background: Early mobilization is an important intervention for post-cesarean section patients as it can accelerate flatus time and reduce gas accumulation in the digestive organs. This effort also helps prevent post-operative complications such as gastrointestinal disorders, circulatory disorders, and abdominal distension through increased gastrointestinal muscle tone and stimulation of intestinal peristalsis. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of early mobilization on normal digestive function in post-cesarean section patients in the Drupadi Room of Bagas Waras Klaten Regional General Hospital.  Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a post-test only with control group. The study was conducted in November 2022 in the Drupadi Room of Bagas Waras Klaten Regional General Hospital. The sample consisted of 40 post-cesarean section mothers selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument was a flatus time observation sheet. Data analysis was performed using an independent t-test to determine the difference in digestive function between the early mobilization group and the control group.  Results: The results showed a significant difference between the early mobilization group and the control group in terms of flatus time (p-value <0.001). The average flatus time in the early mobilization group was 206.40 minutes, while in the control group it was 485.75 minutes.  Conclusion: Early mobilization has a significant effect on accelerating normal digestive function in patients after cesarean section. Midwives can optimize the implementation of early mobilization as part of standard post-cesarean section care to accelerate gastrointestinal function recovery.
