The development of information technology in the digital era requires students to possess good information literacy skills in filtering and utilizing information appropriately for scientific writing. In the pesantren-based environment of MA Darul Huda Ponorogo, there are challenges in the form of limited access to technology and differences between traditional Islamic boarding school literacy practices and the demands of modern academic literacy. This study aims to describe students’ information literacy skills, analyze their scientific writing abilities, and identify the relationship between information literacy and the quality of students’ paper writing. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative design. The research subjects consisted of nine twelfth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The results showed that students had good information literacy skills. Students were able to determine information-search strategies, evaluate credible sources, and apply academic ethics in scientific writing. Students’ scientific writing abilities were also generally categorized as good, as demonstrated by systematic paper organization and appropriate academic language use, although minor technical problems such as typographical errors and citation consistency were still found. The quality of scientific writing was influenced by internal and external factors.
