Abstract

Teachers are a key component in the educational process and play a strategic role in determining the quality of learning in elementary schools. Good teacher characteristics, such as a mature personality, discipline, responsibility, creativity, and communication skills, are crucial factors in creating a conducive learning environment. Furthermore, teachers are required to possess competencies encompassing pedagogical, professional, personality, and social competencies, as mandated by national education standards. This study aims to describe teacher characteristics and analyze the competencies required to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools. The method used is a literature study, reviewing various scientific sources, such as books, journals, and relevant laws and regulations. The results show that positive teacher characteristics and comprehensive competency mastery significantly influence the effectiveness of the learning process, increase student learning motivation, and achieve optimal learning outcomes. Teachers with good characteristics and competencies are able to design, implement, and run learning effectively according to student needs. Thus, teacher characteristics and competencies are fundamental factors in improving the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Learning strategy is one of the important components in the educational process, especially in Islamic Religious Education learning. Learning strategies serve as guidelines for educators in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning activities so that educational objectives can be achieved effectively and efficiently. This article aims to explain the definition, position, and function of learning strategies in Islamic Religious Education. The method used in writing this article is a literature study by reviewing various sources such as books, journals, and relevant scientific references. The results of the study indicate that learning strategies have a very important position because they serve as the basis for determining learning methods, techniques, and approaches. In addition, learning strategies also function to assist educators in creating an active, effective, and enjoyable learning atmosphere, and to help students understand the material optimally. With the appropriate learning strategies, the Islamic Religious Education learning process can run in a more directed manner and achieve the expected objectives
