Abstract

The dieselEgine that drives the ship's electric generator must always be maintained in good condition, because as a electrical power plant throughout the ship, without an electrict the ship cannot function normally. To keep it in top condition and prevent black out, diesel maintenance must be carried out according to standards so that this does not happen after damage has been repaired. One thing that must be done and reported to the classification is the crankshaft inspection. The aim of this research is to find out how much deflection occurs after several years of diesel engine operation, has it exceeded the specified standards? If it has exceeded how to return it to standard condition? The methodology used is quantitative and qualitative, by measuring directly on objects and comparing with existing standards, qualitative by direct observation in the field and comparing with existing references. From the existing results, conditions were obtained that exceeded standards, which were then repaired. The benefit of this research is that it provides an overview of how to carry out maintenance, measure, assess, and how to overcome problems that occur with the engine.

Abstract

Covid19 has changed the behavior of the world's people, until the whole world is affected, schools, offices, public places are closed, restrictions on activities, this condition forces scientists to be extra hard to create inventions to overcome these problems. Medicines to treat it have not yet been found, but several vaccines have been found, but whether the effectiveness of the vaccines can really overcome the pandemic, then efforts that can be done are to minimize the spread of the corona virus. Apart from medicine and vaccines, research is also being conducted on the equipment that can be used to kill viruses. Equipment with UV light has been widely offered and even sold freely, even though the use of UV can not be arbitrary because it can cause irritation. In welding that also emits harmful UV radiation, with a current of 150 -200A, Radiation ranges from 0.87-3.2 W / m2 far beyond the allowable limit of 0.001W / m2, while that of the steilization equipment ranges from 2.8 W / m2 By looking at this comparison, can the implementation of welding practices on campus be said to be safe? Because the UV emission from welding the value is like that used in sterilization equipment.

Abstract

The Oil lubricating system is a support system for the main engine for ship main propulsion. The main engine runs for 24 hours non-stop and all the time while sailing so that the support system must function every time. To ensure that the function runs normally, the components in the support system are provided in redundancy or more than one, if one component performance a decrease in function it will automatically be replaced by a second component, this time is used for the first component to carry out maintenance. The problem that occurs in this case is that the panel will automatically activate the 1st pump, and if it is moved to the 2nd pump, the pump will run but only for a minute then it will auto switch to pump 1st again, after observing and several times testing and analyzing the system The root of the problem can be found, which is not in the electrical system but in the mechanical components. The methods used in this mass resolution are case studies and literature reviews. The conclusion obtained is that a system cannot stand alone, be it mechanical or electrical, it is closely related to other components. This article was compiled with the intention of being able to be used by practitioners and students related to problems in the lubricant system in analyzing problems that occur.
