Abstract

The PNM MEKAAR cooperative is an institution that empowers MSMEs in Deli Serdang Regency. The existence of this institution contributes to increasing the income of food processing MSMEs in Deli Serdang Regency. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of the PNM MEKAAR Cooperative, analyze the competitiveness food processing MSMEs and analzse the influence of the role of the PNM MEKAAR cooperative on the competitiveness of food processing MSMEs. This research is qualitative using ordinal data. The research sample consists of 54 actors who are members of the PNM MEKAAR cooperative. The data analysis method used in this study is likert scale and SEM PLS. The results of the study indicate that the role of PNM MEKAAR cooperative have had been good criteria measurement. The most important role of the PNM MEKAAR cooperative is access to financing, which significantly increases production capacity and expands the variety of food products available on the market. In addition, PNM MEKAAR acts as a marketing facilitator, business management facilitator, and human resources facilitator. In addition, the competitiveness food processing MSMEs have had been very good criteria measurement. Market share and sales turnover have the lowest measurement scores, but are still in the good category for measurement. This indicates the need for significant improvement in market share and sales turnover to develop competitiveness for processed food MSMEs. Moreover, based on the SEM PLS,, there is an influence of the role of the PNM MEKAAR cooperative on the competitiveness of food processing MSMEs.
