Abstract

Abstract"Istirahatlah Kata-Kata" tells the story of Wiji Thukul in his fugitive time in Pontianak. During his escape in Pontianak, Wiji felt anxious, scared and worried by his status. Initially, he isolates himself from the outside. Meanwhile, his wife and children had to face intimidation from agency to find out his whereabouts. This film criticize the ideology show in some dialogues and visual displays. This research analyse some scenes in the movie using semiotic approach to search the critique of ideology signified and the series of signs that construct the film, like the iconic signs, linguistic signs and musical signs.The result showed that this film uses iconic signs such as images, original sound like animal sounds at night, the sound of children crying, the sound of boots, and musical illustrations to reinforce the narrative story. This film also uses a linguistic signs as a symbolic dialogue, monologue, subtitle, and narration. Musical signs obtained from the poetry musical, verbal signs, and narrative story to give the historical background. Cinematic coded obtained by the use of voice over, motion pictures, and montage. This cinematic code consists of cinematographic plan code that is obtained through the structure of image, like image captures, angle shots, and long shots. The time code obtained from narrative films, the order time, and duration. Montage code obtained from editing and transitions. Shooting angle Code obtained through shooting distance and shooting angle. Space codes tells where this moment happened like Pontianak, Solo, Kapuas river, motels, wine shop, a darkroom, and optical effects code obtained through the lens focus.Keywords: Wiji Thukul, Istirahatlah Kata-Kata, biographical motion film, semiotic

Abstract

Agenda Setting Theory is a theory used in mass communication to influence the public. Media build issues which are more important than other issues because of its ability to influence and develop public opinion. CNN and Al Jazeera are two major mass media that represent the West and the East. They have a setting agenda that can not be separated from media agenda setting, the public agenda setting, and the media policy agenda. The purpose of this research is to get answer how agenda setting influence the two media and how it influences reporting on the Israeli-Palestinian war. The method used is to describe texts using framing analysis with agenda setting theory. As the results, CNN and Al Jazeera are influenced by the vision and mission of these media as well as Western and Middle Eastern ideologies. The Public agenda setting and public policy agenda in the media is influenced by social and political system and the prevailing values in which the media is raised.

Abstract

Greenpeace Indonesia campaign the effect of environmental destruction crisis through intagram to deliver a message of care to preserve the environment. This instagram campaign retrieved to reach massive audience besides it is a social media used by young generations. This research used to see how Greenpeace Indonesia use this account to increase public awareness to latent threats that future generations will face. This research used qualitative research with descriptive method. Research data collected through observation, documentation, and literature study. The result of the research tells instagram @Greepeaceid used for persuasive campaign about environmental crisis. The campaign used instagram features as story, carussel, and reel video. This account also apply SOME model to enclose relationship between the non-profit organisation and instagram users. It is effective to deliver information or messages to campaign the user’s awareness towards the use of renewable energy to reduce climate change effect and global warming. ABSTRAK Greenpeace Indonesia mengkampanyekan dampak krisis kerusakan lingkungan melalui instagram untuk menyampaikan pesan kepedulian untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan. Kampanye ditujukan untuk merengkuh jangkauan audiens yang lebih luas di samping instagram merupakan media sosial yang banyak digunakan oleh generasi muda. Riset ini untuk melihat bagaimana Greenpeace Indonesia memanfaatkan akun Greenpaceid untuk meningkatkan kesadaran publik terhadap ancaman laten yang akan dihadapi generasi mendatang. Riset ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data riset dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah instagram @Greenpeaceid digunakan untuk melakukan kampanye persuasif. Kampanye dilakukan dengan posting story, posting informasi berbentuk carussel, dan video reel. Di samping itu, akun ini juga menerapkan model SOME; share, optimize, manage, dan engage untuk membangun hubungan erat dengan pengguna instagram. Akun ini efektif untuk menyampaikan informasi dan mengkampanyekan kesadaran pengguna terhadap penggunaan energi terbarukan untuk mengurangi dampak perubahan iklim dan pemanasan global. Kata Kunci : Greenpeace Indonesia, instagram, krisis lingkungan.
