Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze students' epistemological obstasles in solving contextual problems of geometric rows and series. The research was based on observations and interviews at Santu Petrus Pontianak Catholic High School which indicated learners' obstacles in solving contextual problems. This study used a qualitative approach with six learners as subjects, who were grouped based on the level of problem solving ability. Data were collected through problem solving ability tests and interviews. Data analysis was conducted using triangulation technique. The results showed that high ability learners did not experience epistemological obstacles. Learners with moderate ability experience obstacles in procedural aspects and operational techniques, such as difficulty choosing formulas and performing calculations. While low ability learners experience obstacles in conceptual, procedural and operational techniques. This research confirms that epistemological obstacles are closely related to problem solving ability. It is hoped that this research will have implications for the development of more effective learning strategies to minimize learners' epistemological obstacles.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi pendidikan di era Revolusi Industri 5.0 menuntut modul ajar yang inovatif, adaptif, dan mampu mendukung pengembangan keterampilan abad ke-21. Modul ajar matematika materi aljabar di Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) saat ini masih bersifat konvensional, kurang interaktif, dan belum sepenuhnya memenuhi kebutuhan pembelajaran modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kondisi aktual modul ajar serta menganalisis kesenjangan antara modul yang ada dengan tuntutan pembelajaran di era Revolusi Industri 5.0. Penelitian menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis kebutuhan. Subjek penelitian meliputi guru Matematika, modul ajar materi aljabar, dan dokumen pendukung kurikulum. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar analisis modul ajar dan wawancara semi-terstruktur. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif deskriptif melalui reduksi, penyajian naratif, dan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul ajar yang ada masih kurang interaktif, kurang adaptif terhadap gaya belajar siswa, dan belum sepenuhnya mendukung keterampilan abad ke-21. Terdapat kesenjangan signifikan antara modul saat ini dengan tuntutan pembelajaran modern, sehingga diperlukan pengembangan modul ajar yang lebih inovatif, adaptif, dan mendukung pembelajaran kolaboratif serta problem-based learning.
