Abstract

Learning maharah istima’ requires students to continuously process auditory information throughout the Arabic language learning process. Differences in students’ characteristics in receiving learning stimuli, including sensory preference modalities, are often assumed to influence the effectiveness of listening activities. The study employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto research design. The research population consisted of all seventh-grade students of  MTs Al Falah Jakarta, with a sample of 83 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a sensory preference modality questionnaire and documentation of students’ maharah istima’ learning outcomes. The results of data analysis indicate that the ANOVA test at a significance level of 0.05 produced a significance value of 0.278, which is greater than 0.05, and an F value of 1.299, which is lower than the critical F value of 3.11. These findings suggest that there is no significant difference in maharah istima’ learning outcomes based on students’ sensory preference modalities
