Abstract

"The mentoring initiative in Sayambongin Village, Nambo District, Banggai Regency, has an urgency in strengthening democracy and good governance. The focus is increasing community participation, strengthening village institutions such as BPD and LPM, and improving the quality of village governance. The main objectives include increasing awareness and community participation, empowerment of BPD and LPM, as well as increasing the capacity of officials and improving the administrative system. The expected outcomes involve increasing community participation, strengthening village institutions, improving government governance, and increasing community understanding of democracy and good governance. This assistance involves the collaboration of service teams community, village government, local institutions and the people of Sayambongin Village, with the hope of creating a village that is participatory, transparent and accountable in managing public affairs." ABSTRAK"Inisiatif pendampingan di Desa Sayambongin, Kecamatan Nambo, Kabupaten Banggai, memiliki urgensi dalam penguatan demokrasi dan good governance. Fokusnya adalah meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat, memperkuat lembaga desa seperti BPD dan LPM, serta meningkatkan kualitas tata kelola pemerintahan desa. Tujuan utama mencakup peningkatan kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat, pemberdayaan BPD dan LPM, serta peningkatan kapasitas aparat dan perbaikan sistem administrasi. Luaran yang diharapkan melibatkan peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat, penguatan lembaga desa, perbaikan tata kelola pemerintahan, dan peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat tentang demokrasi dan good governance. Pendampingan ini melibatkan kerjasama tim pengabdian masyarakat, pemerintah desa, lembaga lokal, dan masyarakat Desa Sayambongin, dengan harapan menciptakan desa yang partisipatif, transparan, dan akuntabel dalam mengelola urusan publik."

Abstract

Preeclampsia remains a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality in Indonesia. One of its main risk factors is hypertension during pregnancy that is not properly managed. This community service project aimed to improve knowledge and skills of pregnant women in managing midwifery care to prevent preeclampsia through educational counseling at Puskesmas X. The activity was conducted through preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages using an educational-participatory approach. A total of 30 pregnant women with mild to moderate hypertension participated. Counseling materials included recognition of preeclampsia warning signs, blood pressure monitoring, nutritional management, and home self-care. The evaluation results showed an increase in average knowledge score from 65.2 to 88.7 (a 23.5-point increase) and a 78% improvement in blood pressure measurement skills. This activity effectively enhanced pregnant women’s preparedness in preventing preeclampsia. Regular health education sessions by health workers are recommended to reduce pregnancy complications related to hypertension.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy is one of the most common health problems and increases the risk of complications such as bleeding, premature birth, and low birth weight. The primary preventive measure recommended by the Ministry of Health is the consumption of at least 90 iron tablets during pregnancy. However, compliance with iron supplements by pregnant women remains low. One important factor influencing this compliance is family support. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family support and adherence by pregnant women in taking iron tablets. The study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 120 pregnant women selected using purposive sampling in the working area of ​​Community Health Center X. The instruments used included a family support questionnaire and an adherence questionnaire regarding iron tablet consumption. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that the majority of pregnant women (65.8%) had good family support, and 63.3% were compliant with iron tablet consumption. There was a significant relationship between family support and adherence by pregnant women in taking iron tablets (p-value = 0.001). In conclusion, family support plays a significant role in improving adherence by pregnant women in taking iron tablets. Therefore, health interventions must involve families to increase the success of anemia prevention programs.
