Abstract

This study aims to analyze quality control of towel products in the weaving process at PT Nada Surya Tunggal using the Seven Tools and Poka-Yoke methods. The research was conducted through observations, interviews, and documentation of the production process during the period of March–August 2025. The Seven Tools method was employed to identify defect types, determine improvement priorities, analyze root causes, and evaluate process stability, while the Poka-Yoke method was applied to develop error-prevention measures. The results indicate that four dominant defects, namely small streaks, broken pile, pile streaks, and bald spots, accounted for approximately 82% of the total product defects. The main causes were associated with human, machine, method, material, and environmental factors. Proposed improvements include the implementation of automatic sensors, material barcode systems, machine auto-stop mechanisms, visual indicators, and enhanced operator supervision. The integration of Seven Tools and Poka-Yoke is expected to reduce product defects, improve quality control effectiveness, and enhance production efficiency.
