<![CDATA[One of the persistent challenges in library services is the late return of borrowed books by members. This condition prevents library collections from being made available promptly to other users. This study develops a web-based book return reminder system integrated with a WhatsApp Gateway to automatically send notification messages to borrowers before the book return due date. The system was developed using the Waterfall methodology and implemented with PHP, MySQL, and the WhatsApp API. System testing was conducted using Black Box Testing to ensure that all system functions operated according to the specified requirements, while the automated notification feature was designed to improve the effectiveness of library circulation services. The test results indicate that the system is capable of sending real-time reminder notifications two days before the loan period expires, with all system functions validated successfully. The implementation of this system has proven effective in reducing the risk of administrative oversight while optimizing book inventory management in a more responsive and well-structured manner. Abstrak Salah satu kendala yang masih sering terjadi pada layanan perpustakaan adalah keterlambatan pengembalian buku oleh anggota. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan koleksi tidak dapat segera dimanfaatkan oleh pengguna lain. Penelitian ini membangun sistem pengingat pengembalian buku berbasis website dengan integrasi WhatsApp Gateway yang berfungsi mengirimkan notifikasi otomatis kepada peminjam sebelum jatuh tempo pengembalian. Pengembangan sistem menggunakan metode Waterfall, sedangkan implementasinya memanfaatkan PHP, MySQL, dan API WhatsApp. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan Black Box Testing untuk memastikan setiap fungsi sistem berjalan sesuai spesifikasi, sementara fitur notifikasi otomatis mampu membantu meningkatkan efektivitas layanan sirkulasi perpustakaan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu mengirimkan pengingat secara real-time dua hari sebelum masa peminjaman berakhir dengan seluruh fungsi dinyatakan valid. Implementasi sistem ini terbukti efektif dalam menekan potensi kelalaian administratif sekaligus mengoptimalkan pengelolaan inventaris buku secara lebih responsif dan terstruktur.
