Abstract

The cement industry is a strategic sector in supporting national infrastructure development. PT Semen Gresik's Rembang factory faces high kiln operational downtime due to reduced air pressure. This impacts production efficiency, increases operational costs, and accelerates equipment lifespan. This study aims to identify the main factors causing reduced air pressure in the kiln operating system and formulate a strategy to minimize downtime using the New Seven Tools approach. The results show that the reducing air pressure is the most significant cause of downtime with a frequency of 82.2% and a duration of 80.2%. The dominant factors are signals from the MCC and compressor are not being sent to the Central Control Room (CCR), frequent trips on the MCC due to surge loads when starting the compressor, overheating of the compressor contactor and power cable, and the lack of an auto-restart feature for the compressor control panel after trips and start-stops from the CCR. Recommended improvement strategies include modifying the MCC to send signals to the Central Control Room (CCR), evaluating the breaker and feeder capacity, replacing power cables in accordance with the KHA, and increasing preventive maintenance on the compressor. The study concludes that implementing a New Seven Tools-based repair strategy is effective in reducing the risk of kiln downtime due to reduced air pressure, while simultaneously increasing the efficiency and reliability of kiln operations at PT Semen Gresik's Rembang Factory. STRATEGI PENURUNAN DOWNTIME OPERASIONAL AKIBAT PENURUNAN TEKANAN UDARA DI PT. SEMEN GRESIK PABRIK REMBANGIndustri semen merupakan sektor strategis yang berperan penting dalam mendukung pembangunan infrastruktur nasional. PT Semen Gresik Pabrik Rembang menghadapi permasalahan tingginya downtime operasional kiln akibat penurunan tekanan udara, yang berdampak pada efisiensi produksi, peningkatan biaya operasional, serta percepatan penurunan usia pakai peralatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor utama penyebab penurunan tekanan udara pada sistem operasional kiln dan merumuskan strategi penurunan downtime dengan pendekatan New Seven Tools. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penurunan tekanan udara menjadi penyebab downtime terbesar dengan persentase frekuensi 82,2% dan durasi 80,2%. Faktor dominan yang memengaruhi permasalahan adalah sinyal dari MCC dan kompresor tidak dikirim ke Central Control Room (CCR),Sering terjadi trip pada MCC karena beban lonjakan saat starting kompresor, Kontaktor dan kabel power kompresor overheat, Panel kontrol kompresor tidak memiliki fitur auto restart setelah trip dan start-stop dari CCR. Strategi perbaikan yang direkomendasikan antara lain: Modifikasi MCC agar dapat mengirimkan sinyal ke Central Control Room (CCR), evaluasi kapasitas breaker dan feeder, penggantian kabel power sesuai KHA, serta peningkatan pemeliharaan preventif pada kompresor. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penerapan strategi perbaikan berbasis New Seven Tools efektif dalam mengurangi risiko downtime kiln akibat penurunan tekanan udara, sekaligus meningkatkan efisiensi dan keandalan operasional kiln di PT Semen Gresik Pabrik Rembang
