<![CDATA[The author's concern about the low ability of NU Kaplongan Middle School students for the 2022/2023 academic year in learning to write poetry and the limitations of teachers in designing effective learning strategies and media to improve students' skills in writing poetry is the background for conducting this research. One effort that can be made is to apply the thinking plus strategy with image media in learning to write poetry. This research aims to: 1) test the application of the plus thinking strategy with image media and 2) determine the effectiveness of learning to write poetry using the plus thinking strategy with image media for class VIII students at NU Kaplongan Middle School for the 2022/2023 academic year. This research uses an experimental method with a pretest and posttest group design. The population of this study were all students in class VIII SMP NU Kaplongan for the 2022/2023 academic year. Using the purposive sampling technique, class VIII G was assigned as the experimental class with a total of 34 students and class VIII F as the control class with a total of 34 students. Research data was collected through written tests and observation sheets. Based on the results of statistical calculations using the independent simple test, tcount was 3.561 and ttable was 1.694. So, tcount (3.561) > ttable (1.694), this shows that H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected. Thus, it can be stated that the application of the think plus strategy with image media is effectively applied in learning to write poetry in class VIII SMP NU Kaplongan for the 2022/2023 academic year. Based on the results of the observation sheet, it is proven that the application of the think plus strategy with image media can increase student activity in the process of learning to write poetry in class VIII SMP NU Kaplongan for the 2022/2023 academic year.]]>
